Ok, however...
Article Title:
"The Sabres Prospect most likely to make the jump to the big club next season"
Quote in 2nd paragraph:
"Today I’m going to take a deep dive into comparing the rates of scoring among the Buffalo Sabres’ prospects and assess which players are most likely to make a successful jump to the big club next season."
Furthermore, the metric used were based on previous NHL players, what league they came from, their production in those leagues. Then using that as a baseline to project which prospect best line-up as LIKELY to succeed.
Nothing is guaranteed, and you are coreect in that it doesnt account for team needs/openings, style of play.
Of course, those can change rapidly and can be outdated when systems and coaches change and when GM's make trades.
Well, no crap.
No analytics are perfect, none....i never said this was accurate nor guaranteed...they are projections. - IonSabres
It's great to hear about these young guys. I have the Sabres at 85-95 points. Some of these young unexpected guys need to step up.
How about a guy that comes in and wins a job out of camp? |

Meh.
Technically he never said he is rooting against Nylander.
He could be like me in believing Nylander will never succeed in the NHL given his
-style of play,
- being a perimeter player
- complete lack of two way game
- disappearences for long stretches...games, not just periods in games
He is proving to be exactly who his scouting reviews said he was.
While I am hoping hard for him to make it and being that LW sniper they so desperately need...I just dont see it. I hope I am ded wrong.
With respect to Gerbe, he is off the charts in his excuse making for Nylander. It really is put up or shut up time for Nylander ... and I dont mean solely making it in the NHL out of camp ... he needs a very, very solid season in the AHL if he is sent down again ... he should have alot of talent around him down there, so all the excuses go away this time around. His stats toward then end of last year, including WJ's point to being a set-up man not a sniper...he may be misfit as a LWer.
I may just laugh at the insane boastfulness myself while I shake my head at the fact the Sabres once again got the wrong brother...lol. - IonSabres

The point of the article was to show how each player would have fared last year in the NHL, scoring wise. The entirety of the data shown is junk if you're trying to estimate how a player will fare, offensively or otherwise. All you can get from it is, based on past players, mathematically, how should this player have scored last year in the NHL. But even then, it's junk because of age and variables.
I think what rubbed me the wrong way here is that the interpretation of the article made Lawrence Pilut our best non NHL player. Which we all know is not true anyways.

I have a draft strategy to address this:
If a brother has been drafted and he is good: do not draft
If a brother has been drafted and he is bad: draft
If a brother gets traded for mathew Barzal, and the brother is exposed to the expansion draft, laugh at Peter Chiarelli |

This is basically right but the 3 is actually 40% and that's basically 90% so the 4 and the 9 is 13 take the 1 and 3, you get 2, the number of towers that fell, towers rhymes with powers, which is basically a synonym for the US, and this tells us the US planned the attacks. Thanks for proving this, as$hole. |

What do you do if you have 2 bad stromes but the third one is supposed to be the best of the three. Like Reinhart |

Only 3.
I see where the confusion came from. I must be thinking of someone else where the third brother is like 2019 or 20 eligible. |

Wouldn't it he GREAT if somehow Pilut become a lynchpin Dman though.
It raised my eyebrows but having someone projected higher than Dahlin ... to your point it is purely scoring based...not an evaluation of other skills and age.
Having Olofsson high as also yebrow raising...but again high scoring in a tougher league... that does make sense to me.

The model made Asplund and Olofsson twice as offensively talented as Mittelstadt. So that's fun.
To the greater point here, I would be thrilled to see those long shot guys (a 7th and a UDFA) make an impact on the roster. When was the last time we had a group of prospects actually push for the line up? 2005? |
