I think Marty was more a system goalie due to their style and 2 hall of fame defenders helping him out crunch time
I still have him as the third best goalie I have ever seen in their prime - homiedclown
Maybe I've never given Brodeur his due, but he seemed to have it pretty easy behind that suffocating defensive style Jersey played. He would often win 2-1 while having only to make like 15 saves. But, having said that, he always seemed to rise up when he was needed in the playoffs.
Luongo makes my list, so many times during his first stint in FL I watched him stand on his head, making 40+ saves and losing 2-1. I remember Lu pitching a 50 save shutout in MTL, a 1-0 OT win when FL should've been run out of the building.
My top three would be Hasek, Hasek and Hasek, only partly kidding, he's just far and away the most amazing goalie I've ever seen play.
I guess that s.o.b Patrick Roy would be after Hasek. After winning the first two games of 96 Final at home, Roy and the Avs came to FL for game 3. First period, FL scored and the rats came flying down. Roy didn't skate away or hide in the net, he stood in his crease as the rats pelted down. Shortly afterward, FL scored again and again the rats rained down on a now seething Roy. During intermission Roy reportedly told his team that there would be no more rats, then he went out and shut FL out for the rest of game 3 and all of the 3ot (ended early in 3ot) game 4. That bastard was good.
Hasek, Roy, Luongo

Yep I deserve it .. - gerbe75pts
Idk, whatever that was over had nothing to do with you and if you would’ve stuck your nose some place it shouldn’t be, you would’ve wound up like that dude. That is nuts.

we will never see 3 like that again
ever
and he had a much better D then the other 2 guys - homiedclown
That's true, three of the all-time greatest playing at the same time. I think I (maybe unfairly) rank Brodeur a little lower because of the defense he played behind, but I guess in doing that I overlook his ability to remain focused through long stretches of facing next to no shots and being stellar when needed. He was a great goalie.
A) Get a concealed carry permit. Get trained in handgun use. Use said handgun to make a citizen's arrest.
B) Call the Police
Or
C) Don't go into poopty neighborhoods - feetontheair22
A) is a good way to get yourself shot
The LAST thing u wanna do is end up in a shootout in the middle of a street (or wherever)...
and that very likely can be the outcome if u pull a gun out
And taking classes & going to the gun range isn’t gonna prepare u for real life situations like that
Firing at a human is WAY different than firing at a target
Plus the adrenaline & nerves you’d have...
if u do have to fire, you’re probably more likely to miss
So much can go wrong when u pull a gun
Just call the police
Just call the police
Just call the police
The two guys around the 31-38s mark are hilarious (assuming they aren't in on the setup). They have pretty much no reaction through the whole thing and just keep chilling by the desk they're standing at.

Call the police? You can’t be serious. Have you ever been in a situation like this, or are you just hypothesizing? Have you ever had to actually shoot at a person? Just hypothesizing again? Have you ever even seen a gun being fired in person in real life? Hypothesize much? You talk about adrenaline and nerves, those combined most of the time actually make people more clear headed and focused in reality.
Speaking from experience, the cops will take 20-30 mins to show up, then they’ll start talking poop to you and belittling you when they do, much less actually do anything at that point to mitigate the situation seeing how it happened 20-30 mins prior and the threat is long gone (if you’re still alive at that point.) Your fantasy world where all gets solved peacefully by the cops doesn’t exist, never has, and it never will. I will take my gun and ask questions and for forgiveness later. God willing I’ll never have to shoot at someone, but id rather have the option than not.
They should’ve played Kane on the wing with Sam and then Pouliot with Eichel,
but oh well
It’ll be interesting to see if they try Sam again at Center with O’Reilly traded
Most likely not...
but Botts did bring up that he can play center so they might give him a shot there - jdfitz77
If Sam could produce at the C position it would give us the best chance at icing a competitive roster going forward.
Anyway you slice it we will have a lot of players vying for spots on the big club. A lot more competition for spots could push some guys to elevate their play.
