Basically looks like the same numbers as last year with Kane and ROR
But a bottom 10 team
Botts better be looking for a legit winger - gerbe75pts
And if he secures a "legit winger" what does that do for:
A) winger's productjon...G/ A?
B) Sabres finish, Pts and ranking? |

Dude I genuinely feel bad for you.
This O’Reilly trade wrecked you.
I went through this after the Kane trade.
It gets better - sbroads24
I was mostly fine with the trade when it happened, and I still am.
I like Berglund and the first, wanted Kyrou, Fabbri or Thomas instead of Thompson. It's a B/B+ trade atm
You're misreading what I'm saying. People are very negative about this team's chances, but there are too many new people at key positions to evaluate what we're gonna be. |

Based on last year, a Bottom 10 Team would have around 82 points ... which is exactly what i have projected as were are constituted right now.
A true #1 LW gets what 60 points +/- (elite gives you far more)
A good #2 LW ... what 35-45 ? |

Agree Completely.
Who knows what this team does, and who will be on it as I still think there is another set of trades coming to
- reduce the number of LHDs
- reduce the number of F's
- acquire another LW
- maybe get another RHD
Currently, it feels like 80 - 85 pts. |

If the Sabres somehow didnt care to help antipin learn the English language, that leads me to believe:
The Sabres were not trying to win.
Sorry taco - Boss34
But they DID help him, they got him a tutor. Hamilton was wrong. So, no tank? |

You can either believe he was being disingenuous or that he didn't know they provided a teacher. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. It was clear that he didn't have a translator and that he struggled with even simple questions from the media. - Lunaion
In his statement at the end of the year he thanked the Sabres for helping him learn English, pretty much above everything else. English is an incredibly hard language to learn, especially coming from being a Russian speaker. |

Agreed.
Pham should have done a better job in understanding the real situation better. Coming out with a definitive statement like that does cause a bit of skepticism. He shoul d have just left it atthe fact Antipin struggled withtne english language based on his direct contact with him. - IonSabres
Antipin also could've pulled the "no habla" thing because he didn't want to talk to Hamilton.
The kids, 20 or 30 of them, from Belarus and Ukraine that were in my grade or near it always used to pull that poop with teachers, even though they spoke English pretty well, especially as we got into high school. |

He was probably self conscious. I speak some German, but the two times I've been there, I almost feel bad when I'm trying to converse, because I know I'm probably (frank)ing up every other sentence |

He probably was. I was left with the impression that his English was very rudimentary though.

Very true
I took 2 semesters of Arabic. Learning not only a new language, but a new alphabet is daunting. German is in the same language family as English, and even french, while different, isn't too foreign. Learning completely new sounds and letters that we don't have is really, really hard, especially at 25. Must have sucked for him |

It's also true of most people learning new languages that they understand much more than they can speak. |
