Ignore James Gunn, his mind is on other things at the moment. |

Did Trouba hold out for more $$ yrs ago on another contract ? - Leniwm1
2 years ago he missed more than a dozen games holding out for more money. He ended up signing a bridge deal which brings us up his current RFA status. He either wants to get overpaid, or play somewhere in the US where he could get top PP minutes. Jets can't afford to overpay anyone (else) right now. Trouba is a great D man who doesn't get credit because offensive numbers are low. But when Big Buff is controlling the D mins on top PP, that doesn't leave much opportunity for Myers, Trouba when they're running 4+1 on PP2. Jets have Sami Niku who is NHL ready, they don't NEED Trouba. I'd love to see a deal. Trouba for Mayfield, Wahlstrom, and a pick. |

You wonder what goes through some players minds. Jets are on the cusp of something special, yet...
Certainly lots of scenarios that run through a players thoughts I'd imagine. |

You gotta love Islanders fans. The guy who was the face of their franchise and their saviour walks in free agency and now he's "the pyjama kid" and somehow a worse player now that he is a Leaf.
I have yet to see a Leafs fan on here proclaim anything more than that the Leafs are a contender for the Cup. This was the case before Tavares came to Toronto anyway.
The only ones talking about a Stanley Cup in Toronto are the haters. This is because there's some fear that the Leafs may now actually have a shot at it in the near future. - Kinger34
IMHO, Tampa is still the team to beat....if they land Karlsson, we are all screwed |

Funny thing is I was never a hater of the leafs...Darcy Tucker yes but always respected the leafs...It is the fans continually crapping on the Islanders and any potential future move the organization tries to make that I laugh at. There were two reasons to sign Mr PJs...One was to give Barzal another few years to develop before he takes over as #1...The second was to prove to other NHL elite that the Islanders are not a bad destination.
Is Capt PJ's a good player? Yes...Is he the guy that will change games nite in and nite out...I will let you be the judge...Especially when the team is playing him that kind of money to be a second or third line center...Or even a wing in a few yrs because he has no speed...Then again maybe he will flourish because he does not have to be the leader and carry the load. I guess time will tell. |

the friggin' Islander cry baby is back, i love the self portrait..............keep being a Leaf hater because Johnny T left your piece of $hit team......... - bluestar
I know it is was the one I love left on your mom's night table. She enjoys kissing it every night before she tucks you in.
My enjoyment will be when the Islanders continually knock the leafs out of the playoffs for the next 7 years.
Again, not a leaf hater...you Maple Syrup Leafs fans cannot get it through you head. I just find it funny how you fans think think the NHL rises and sets in your tiny province.

Hilarious that people can't stop talking about Leafs and Leafs fans and then turn around and complain about stuff like this.

I heard the Isles offered Tavares for him straight up, they even back dated the paperwork to before the deadline. It's all good. |
