Let’s be realistic, McPhee was probably under strict orders to sign Reaver. Second year franchises don’t keep filling arenas by not spending two mil on fan favorite playoff hero’s.

Vegas has been home to some of the biggest fights in history. They love good fights.. So why not keep on one of the best, if not best, fighters in the game?

The price is a bit ridiculous IMO though.

I have always thought that calling a player a "face puncher" is the most disrespectful thing. I bet you'd never have the guts to say it to any of them in person.

Ryan Wilson is one of those beer league players that tries his hardest and believes he’s a better actual hockey player than Ryan Reaves.

Sutter trade and Haglen acquisition had nothing to with each other aside from a throw in dman that would have been a third round pick or another prospect in both cases. Sutter did bring back the pick that was used on Gustavson who was the main piece that brought in Brassard though.

Well that throw in D-man was involved so they do have something to do with each other. That wasn't my point to the post though. I was saying I'm glad they didn't pay Sutter and moved him to a terrible GM that gave the Pens an actual 3rd line centre

I don’t see how Reaves didn’t get more money somewhere else. There isn’t another player comparable to him in the entire league. Sure Crosby and Mcdouchebag are great offensive players but there are players that can do what they do to a certain extent. Is there another player that can swing with a right hand and beat the opponent to the ice no matter where the punch lands? I don’t think so. I was thinking more of a 5 x 3 contract.

For a guy that can't skate all that well let alone put up points consistently I am surprised he made more than a mil a year. No doubt he can fight but to say that if he's on your team that the star player will be left alone is a joke. I'm glad he isn't in Pittsburgh anymore. They won 2 cups without wasting a roster spot on a goon and I'm glad they didn't go that route again.

I just disagree about the skating part.
