I like okposo and he does stick up for himself.
But, he is hardly scaring anyone.

I really don't know too much about sobotka other then he plays hard. Finishes checks. Can he fight?

- Boss34

Even though having the 4 or 5 guys who are willing to drop them is more then anyone sans Boston in our division. The moral of the story is that we aren’t a soft team by any means

He saw Drury in a vulnerable position and decided to lower the boom, which he's done his entire career.

The point of hitting was originally meant to be separating the man from the puck, but it's morphed into football on ice as a means to wear down the other teams best players. That has never made sense to me, but I always prefer to see high end skill over WWE on ice.

I’d be ok if they just got rid of hitting

No, I still haven't seen the Bogo tweet. Your copying of the text provides no context, to whom was he tweeting? What precipitated it. All things that you can find out if you just either embed the tweet or provide the link to the tweet. Either of which are easier than copying and pasting text.

I think we score at plus 60 goals this season.

Whether its 30 more and letting in 30 less
40 and 20.

That's 25 more points

- Boss34

If it’s 30 & 30...
that puts us at 229 goals for (22nd),
and 250 goals against (20th)

Now that’s obviously a nice leap,
but idk how you think we have enough scoring?

Flip those numbers so that we score 250 & give up 229, and then we are a good playoff team
+21 puts us around the 10th best team
-21 leaves us significantly short of the playoffs

We NEED more scoring still
That’s plain & simple to me

I wouldn’t say he’s a heavy weight. He has had a few share of fights though. He does play the body extremely well. I remember a game a few years ago he flattened matt Cooke

Really scary group there.

Bogo and McCabe are actually sorta good fighters.
Bogo for sure

Sobotka ?
Risto is not a fighter
Bailey - when did this happen
Okposo- not scary

- Boss34

In hindsight now that we traded ROR, Kane would have fit in with the core long term. At the end of the day I think Kim and Terry wanted him gone.

Yeah, i get it

But if we still had Kane & O’Reilly (we could’ve fit both), minus locker room & other issues...
I think we’d for sure be a playoff team this season, and going forward

Kane still isn’t worth near 7 mil.

But if Wilson got 5.....

On the ice it seams proportionate 7- 5

It's still the off ice bs and lockerroom stuff

That’s the thing though
The scale needs readjusting every year

Going forward...
I think 7ish mil is gonna be the norm for guys expected to score 25+ goals

Agreed, but Kane has proven he can do that about half the time.

Plus I doubt he stays healthier into his 30’s.

I would have been cool with him for the next 3 or so years. Beyond that, not really

I am a huge ROR supporter, but those two had their chance and they could barely be competitive. If we had kept them, the only additions and would be Sheary and Dahlin. With ROR gone, Mittelstadt is given his chance to be a scoring 2C and Berglund can comfortably slide into a checking 3C.

What I'm saying is, those two couldn't prove that they only needed a piece or two. They failed as core pieces. I have my qualms with the ROR return, but Mitts as the long term 2C makes sense
