Clearly: its more about being tough and being difficult to play against. Not just points.

Exactly what I have been telling you

How am I wrong? Tons of players have terrible contracts. We have about 4 of them...
- Wetbandit1

Um,

The Washington Capitals General Manager just won the Stanley cup.

Tmgm got fired.

Terrible comparison as you grasp for straws.

You were wrong, it's not just about points and scoring.
Hockey is still a physical game and players get rewarded for playing that style

I think you’ve made a mistake by identifying three contracts universally chatrcterized as “bad values” to support the Wilson signing.
- Der Kaiser

Wilson is a $3M player who leveraged a good playoffs. I believe we've seen that before.

I see your point.

Bandit is acting like 5 million is reserved for superstars not tom wilson.

I was pointing out that 5 million is what these not stars are making

The league is rife with awful contracts given out by GMs good and bad. Just because a guy you've got a hard-on for got a stupid deal doesn't mean he deserves it. What about your boy Maroon? He only got $1.75 for one lousy year. Did his toughness pay off?

That the league is rife with terrible contracts leveraged by players that had good playoffs. Or one good year. Brown has had one good year out of 4 so far and has been routinely mocked as one of the worst contracts in the league, even after last year.

Brown is literally the pic they used at the top for this one:

One of the poster boys for bad contracts at this point, Brown signed his deal in 2013 after a six-year run that included a Stanley Cup and 309 points in 450 games. He’d win another Cup with L.A. in 2014, but since signing that deal, he’s recorded just 118 points in 323 regular season games.

Seabrook, the worst in the league in this one:

Seabrook was infamously a healthy scratch from one of the Chicago Blackhawks games this year. His recent play has been so terrible that Scott Bowman and Joel Quenneville would rather keep their $7 million defenseman comfortably seated in the press box than on the ice. The 32-year-old will steadily decline for the rest of his career, and yet the Blackhawks will continue to pay him for at least another six seasons.
