Has anyone considered the possibility that now that Benning has been promoted to president he may screw up and fire himself as GM? - CanuckDon
He's not that competent. |

Yes, it should have been quicker. They should have forced a few vets out for futures right away - CanuckDon
Van could of had Viktor Arvidsson, Brayden Point and David Pastrnak right now if they just would have made a few trades. |

Dahlen had some good comments the other day . He asked "do you not think it was a coincidence that I ws traded for and Pettersson drafted the same year?". He said the Sedins came up to me two years ago asking about EP . He believes this was well thought out by the Sedins and Canucks . - VANTEL
I read that. First round picks can just be for D now then. |

This all makes perfect sense. The Nucks have some good specs in the system but they’re still a few seasons away from realistically competing. Linden just has a brain and wanted to actually do a proper REBUILD for the long term benefit of the kids and the organization as a whole. But no, that’s too smart. Wayyyy too smart. Linden deserved better.
The owner’s goal shouldn’t be just to make playoffs for the sake of being in the playoffs, then you just become first round punching bags like the Minnesota Mild. |

Ferarro said Dahlen is going to surprise many fans. We just have to wait for the young guys to come along and keep our draft picks |

Once the prospects are ready, they can push out the players that are on the roster right now. Those players can be traded for picks and Van will have a young team and prospects won't need to be rushed and allowed to develop for centuries |

I think they have good hockey minds tbh, not that i want them running the team anytime soon but I wouldn't mind them working in some capacity with the next regime. |

What if Van traded Tanev for 2- 1st round picks 3 years ago? Your hate is based on "if"
That would have been good. This team might actually one day have a shot of making the playoffs again.. instead here we are this pile of poop. |

Thanks Carol
I don't put too much stock into East Coast reporting on the Canucks . Last week had Elliot Freidman stiring the pot with Deam Lombardi coming to Vancouver and bringing Voynov
I think any little jabs they can take they will so I don't really read their articles except the 31 on 31 and he is never right about any of his thoughts . - VANTEL
good we could use voynov for free..
lombardi makes me nervous though |

My hatred of Benning is purely on mismanagement, or what I perceive to be mismanagement. Not ifs. Even if some of the moves wouldn't have turned out, which naturally some of them wouldn't have, simply making the right moves betters your chances of success in the future IMO.
So it's not if the moves would have turned out, it's actually making or not making moves is what bothers me.
Benning gambled on players other teams had essentially given up on, I would have gambled at the draft. |
