There is obviously something to the story but we will never know the truth same as when Gillis left.

He was a President of a club that he shouldn't have been pres of . He has no experience and he was hired as a fluffer for the media.

This story is way bigger than it should be . Two sides disagreed and one got fired . End of story.

I fully agree. But, I have a suspicion that something will happen to derail the process.

I look no further than recent events. The Canucks are riding some of their best PR news in years with getting a highly ranked first rounder. And what do they follow that up with? Well they fire their Prez who happens to be Trevor Linden.

Their timing could not be worse.

I just want this franchise to get their poop together so they can focus on the on-ice product.

Media stories about the Canucks always get blown up way bigger then they should be.

My hatred of Benning is purely on mismanagement, or what I perceive to be mismanagement. Not ifs. Even if some of the moves wouldn't have turned out, which naturally some of them wouldn't have, simply making the right moves betters your chances of success in the future IMO.

So it's not if the moves would have turned out, it's actually making or not making moves is what bothers me.

Benning gambled on players other teams had essentially given up on, I would have gambled at the draft.
