I don't think he'll be Forsberg but I think he could be a 20/20 or 20/30 type guy. Ideally it would be nice if him and Draisaitl clicked and became a duo like Nuge and McDavid. - Reveen.
agreed
Two way 20 and 50 second line guy is kinda what I’m thinkin
I’d take that |

Can you hope that Pavel Zacha can turn into that for me? |

Done and done bro
And the best part is you won’t need to depend on one dimensional hall hindering all your offence if he does
Win win
Also, hart trophies are for losers |

I'm glad this post just didn't turn into another Chiarelli traded Hall, wha wha cryfest.
The Oilers issues have little to do with losing one dimensional wingers or scoring in general. They have to do with goaltending, defense, coaching/special teams. Going to say injuries even had more influence on last season than the supposed "no depth in the top 6" BS.
In actuality the offense has generally improved despite losing players like Hall and Eberle.
A healthy team with improved goaltending and special teams, plus moderate growth from our young players and prospects, is a team that will be in the mix forsure. Especially in the weak pacific division.
We've drafted a lot of fast talented wingers over the years hopefully now we just get one or two to develop into a true top 6 level guy to take us over the top. - Aerchon

Edmonton's pp needs a qb to drive it from the point. As good as guys like Giroux, Simmonds etc.. are on the pp, Philly's powerplay revolves around Shayne Gostisbehere. That being said, it is pretty hard to believe that a pp featuring McDavid couldn't even score 40 total goals. - BiggE
It's my belief that Edmonton has that player in Oscar Klefbom if the kid can stay healthy. |

I'm still of the opinion that he shouldn't have.... he had a great season but saying he willed the team into the playoffs is a slap in the face to the rest of his team. He has a better team around him than they're being given credit for.
If he's the only reason the Devils made the playoffs then the Devils are one Hall injury (there have been many) away from drafting Hughes next year. |

Look at Filip Forsberg... broke out in year 3 and was very much Puljujarvi like his first two years. They need to play him with skill and give him and extended look not just one or two games. - Reveen.
Staple him to Draisaitl's wing and the 1st PP unit to start the season and I'm confident he'll find his niche. Whether it's Rieder or Lucic on the other wing, I think Draisaitl could use some skill there. Not gonna expect Forsberg level production at any point, but 45-55 points and a solid two-way game fulfills my expectations of him |

If Hall gets hurt that’s exactly what happens. |

Health and defensive consistency have been and will continue to be his stumbling blocks. |

Gap tooth and horse face have no place on a team with our unparalleled depth on the wings. - Reveen.
At least gap tooth continued his long history as a defensive liability with the isles. Wasn't much help to the team to make the playoffs and as far as I can tell he helped JT decide to bolt for TO. |

Prob
I mean if he’s even pretty good in preseason, he gets another look for awhile. Not much else on the wings

If Eberle resigns in Long Island he wont have to worry about being a playoff disappointment. |

I don’t mind that But I would like to see Jesse P play with Nuge and McDavid. He’s a strong skater and might be a good passing option for McD once in a while on his breakaways.
I like Yamamoto on Draisaitls wing with Lucic on the other wing. 2 big bodies on the cycle will make a bit of room for him and less likely to get Hemsky’d every game.
These guys were drafted to be top 6 wingers, let’s give them a shot. |

I'd give him a shot, but I'm more of the mind to keep Yamo in the AHL until he's absolutely, without a doubt ready. I'm cautious of his shoulders as with every other small forward we've had over the years (Hemsky, Hall, Nuge and even McDavid). Shoulders just aren't something you can rush your way through developing. |

I don’t disagree, maybe use Reider in that spot as a place holder? See how LD and Draisaitl do with a smaller winger? As nice as it would be for a midget to have those 2 mutants as line mates, it might benefit Draisaitl’s style to be flanked by 2 behemoths instead. |

Don't get me wrong- I agree that Yamo is a great fit with Drai. His best talent is finding open space and Drai excels at finding those open guys. The right version of Lucic would be a solid compliment, but I might sooner have Rieder on that flank- more speed on the wings opens up more lanes.
If we can clear out Lucic after a bounceback year (compliance buyout) and get a guy like Rieder signed on a solid value deal, he'd be a good compliment. |
