such as - Reveen.
Sign Demers, keep Hall. Not ideal, but there's certainly an argument there. |

Demers would have been a good alternative to Russell. I wish we could have gotten better than Larsson for Hall, but Larsson isn't exactly a poopty player.
Edmonton missed the boat when Leddy and Boychuk were both available 4 years ago. They could have been had for spare parts. |

I like Larsson alot, but giving up Hall to get him was ludicrous.
Hall had his issues, but to me you don't give up a player like that. You let them mature out of it.
ie. Patrick Kane
I was thinking Demers or other veteran D over getting bent in a big player deal. |

Nobody debates that it was ludicrous.... if Hall was a center I think the return would have been way better. |

Hall with leon behind Connors line was essentially the rainbow at the end of the tunnel after one of the worst decades in hockey history. That was what we would’ve earned after all the losing.
It’s the move that set us back.
It’s the move that has us as a bubble team going into year 4 of The best player in the world and 9 after a rebuild.
It’s the move that has us once again desperate for prospects to be huge factors. It’s the move that has the terms “draft and develop” and wait as acceptable narratives again |

Hall had checked out before he was even traded... he can say he was pissed all he wants but he wasn't being a team player. |

I can’t really argue conjecture. I mean maybe. But if two seasons over a ppg, both years comparable in relation to his teammates to what he did this past year in jersey, is “checking out”, then what’s him enagaged!? Connor good ?
This narrative that he matured and is a different guy now has kinda been floated and accepted I’ve noticed. And while some of it may be true, his numbers in edm alone/contribution to team/and relative to teammates were totally comparable multiple times in edm as last year.
I recently read that as awful as those Oiler teams were those years. (Like close to all time, ahl quality bad without him on the ice) they were actually a plus team and almost playoff caliber when he was on the ice |

The issue wasn't his talent... it was his poopty attitude in the dressing room. What he did this past season is what happens when Hall is engaged with his coach.

I remember Hall getting clobbered game after game, having to pick himself up off the ice and nobody came to his defense. Actually I think Eberle did once.
It seemed his teammates rather enjoyed it... |

Imo, Dude was an absolute warrior for this organization and carried it on his back almost completely alone for years.
We’re elite and true contender tomo with him back on the squad.

Bullpoop. Hall was livid when he was traded, he thought he was part of the solution and wanted to be just that. His coach in Jersey had to give him a kick in the ass last summer about getting over it.
Doesn’t sound like a player who didn’t want to be here. |

Agreed. I mean it’s all guesswork and if that’s what rev saw, fine. But I didn’t see that at all .
