Can't blame him. They should be better by next year. |

Can’t blame the kid at all. First off, in the long run, a year at B.U. will be beneficial to his overall development. Second, Ottawa is a dumpster fire right now and the kid would be much better off staying as far as possible from the whole mess. |

so based on EKs track record, and the fact that NOBODY else has reported anything like this, I expect the ELC to be signed in the next 24-48 hrs |

If he DOES NOT sign and goes back to BU... does Ottawa lose his rights? |

My source tells me Brady has been in conversations with Blake Wheeler on what he should do. |

I dont think Ottawa is a dumpster fire. Whatever issues there were are gone aside from Melnyk. Looking at their roster i feel as if we are all too drawn in by the drama. The team still has:
Duchene
Stone
Dzingal
B.Ryan(still a good player but had injury issues with his hand)
Anderson
Karlsson
On paper Ortawa is not impressive but neither was Vegas. I think they will do better than expected

I'm in Ottawa and I can see the fire & smoke from my work.
It all depends on what happens in the next couple of months as far as signings go (Stone, Karlsson, Ceci, etc). |

Who'd want to play in Ottawa? What a mess. Passionate fans sure but it's a shame the capital of Canada can't crank out a more dominant and rich team. It's a shame about EK as well. |

If Ottawa tells him there's a good chance he'll make the team out of training camp I have a hard time believing he won't sign.
make a million dollars in the NHL, or make nothing in college.......hmmmmm tough choice. |

You're assuming the kid is only thinking about dollar signs. He knows he's going to be a pro NHL player and make his share. Making that now versus continuing what he's started at BU. I think the kid sees the long game. |

I don't see where he plays next year having any Impact of how good of a draft pick he will be for Ottawa, asinine subject in my opinion, he is not the type of player that is going to just come into his rookie season and burn up and down the ice. This kid will have an impact in the NHL, he will be a Typical Tkachuk, Tough, Hard Nosed, a Little Dirty and you will have to know where he is during the game.
Who wouldn't want a kid like this in their system. |

the reason the team isn't rich is that all the profits the team makes (and don't kid yourself, they're significant) go into interest payments on the 4-5 re-financings melnyk has had to do.
most people who own sports teams do it because it's fun, but have another multi-billion dollar business or businesses to fall back on.
Melnyk ONLY has the sens. He can't afford to keep them on his own, so he continually re-finances at higher interest rates so all his profits go to the bank and investors rather than being re-invested into the team.
it's only a matter of time before he goes completely tits up and has ZERO options but to sell. I have a hard time imagining that he can hold onto the team even to the end of this season. |

LOL Bobby Ryan. He's scored a couple gorgeous highlight reel goals. Cool that he's basically the 1st legitimate NHL player from the immediate Philadelphia area. He had a wonderful playoff 2 years ago, but for the most of his NHL career, he's been a massively overpaid player who's point totals don't justify his salary.

he'll develop better in the NHL than he ever would in the NCAA, and he makes millions of dollars doing it.
no matter how you slice it....development or money......he's better served to play in the NHL. |

Izzy he Hold off signing the ELC and decides to play for BU at least one more year. The question becomes will he ever sign an ELC with the senators… I say he doesn’t and he eventually has his rights traded to guess who???For guess who???
In the immortal words of EK more to come… Stay tuned |
