It's because the first major legal system that specifically had Senators was in Rome.

Otherwise the logo would just be a guy in a suit..... I've always thought it would be kind of cool if we named the rink something like "The Senate". But I guess i'm old fashioned like that, I like catchy nicknames lol

Only problem with that is that Ottawa isn't like New York or even Toronto.... We don't really have a nice skyline.

We don't have a CN tower or Empire State Building or Statue of Liberty

Maybe they could use Parliament but a lot of people right now associate Parliament with our current useless government and that isn't really a good thing. Plus it's not like that building is even that good looking.

Personally, I love the character logos.

I really like these jersey designs, but I hate that 90's logo

I also am not sure that Adidas likes the strings. If they took this layout, updated it for the new Adidas styling (like the strings that Buffalo has) and with a better logo (like one in the comments earlier).

You know that even if Melnyk sells the team or not, they aren't allowed to move without a majority vote from every owner in the league and approval from Bettman (Who's already gone on record multiple times saying he will not let them move)

Plus the rights to the Quebec logo and name is owned by the Avs and the rights to the Whalers logo and name is owned by Carolina.

The only exception to that when it comes to relocated teams and who owned the rights are when teams actually fold. Or the one weird case is the Jets, still owned their name but their logo rights are actually owned by Arizona

Go easy on me, I did this in paint so it's very simple and a bit grainy. But I think something along these lines would be awesome for a new jersey for the Sens.

I would also say use the jersey's they have until the opening of the new rink... otherwise it'll just be looked at as a cash grab.

Move them to Quebec and bring back the Nordiques jersey...problem solved.

Any new type of jersey is a cash grab. But you are absolutely right, the fans want a change. It wouldn't be as obvious of a money grab (or saving) as other things Melnyk has done.

These look great.

The "O" jerseys look terrible and might be the worst jerseys in the league. They look more like something a rugby team should wear than a hockey team.
