LD: Dumo, Maatta, Oleksiak, Johnson
RD: Letang, Schultz, Ruhwedel
Unless my math is wrong here, the Pens are jammed at LD. I threw Ruhwedel in there, but he’s the 7th dman.
I get where you’re coming from, but your talking about quality and where they should play , I’m talking about strict amount of LDs on this roster.
EDIT: I completely agree with you on JJ and Oleksiak, but from everything I’ve read in the media the Pens seem to feel differently. - Rinosaur
If the Pens feel differently we're screwed. JJ or Oleksiak in the top 4 is not good. |

I also hope GMJR has still a little positive balance with McPhee for our 2nd in 2020, but maybe that was already used in the Brassard-trade (salary retention)... |

I was kidding about Jordan, but I wouldn't know Payton if I tripped over him in The street. Not a fan of NBA. Shaq, everyone knows who the big fella is. |

I hate seeing people virtue signal... - joecool2931
Each to their own. I dislike cyber bullying immensely as it's not regulated enough & proven to cause suicides in young people & even in some older ones.
Honestly, if someone spoke to you that way face to face, things would happen. But usually people that do that type of thing aren't that brave away from anonymity. It's a scurge on our new society. But as I said, each to their own. |

You don't think Oleksiak could develop into a top 4 guy? Remember Gonchar does do magic. |

I’m not excited about this season to be honest if either one of them plays above the 3rd pair.
Oh wait... you haven’t given JJ a chance!!! Rabble rabble rabble |

Don't feel thats the case, you have 2 LD, and 2 RD who are both higher in salary and playing some pretty good puck. I think Oleksiak was a great signing tho, huge kid that can play mean. JJ was a suprise to me. The term makes me cringe, but gotta respect the way the vet is paying off his parents debts. Hopefully he will be left with a few bucks for retirement when all is said and done. |

Aussie, must admit i didn't even realize Jordan (at the very beginning left?!) until Barnaby told above.

Way better center-depth and a little veterdad-here&there, improved 4th-line, lighter schedule with nearly same defense... i like our chances for the start of the season (then injuries will dictate like always anyways). |

By the way...
Edmonton at 5v5: 2.41 GF/60
Edmonton at 5v4: 5.12 GF/60
SOOOOOO it was still easier for the worst PP team in the league to score at with the MAN ADVANTAGE than it was at ES.

I havn't been on here alot as of late cuz not much interesting is happening atm. But wtf is happening with this blog? all I see are numbers thrown around, people whining at eachother and Rino, Boyd and Feds creating some kind of trifecta that will always push down other people who have opinions that they don't agree with and have eachothers backs likes some group of bullies. It may not be what they strive for and mean to do ofc but it kinda looks like that. we need a new scape goat and more "SID SUCKS!" |

I prefer;
Actual ice time.
Actual goals
Actual games.
In the virtual world of analytics you can go & find all sorts of wonderful & amazing things. Games aren't won & lost on points/goals per 60. When you score & how much time - real time it takes to score concern me. I put those actual statistics down. They are real. Actual.
Now do you actually understand what I'm actually saying or do I need to put it down in words per 60?
In regards to the PP stats for the Oil, I really don't know why you put them down. I only referred to them because they are so low, along with other teams scoring on the PP as a comparison to how different & sparse the man advantage can prove to be. How many of those games produced zero production on the PP - that is what would interest me.
I am glad you now know who Connor McDavid is though. He's had a good year actual goals wise, 35 actual goals EV was fantastic. Not so hot on the PP though With only 5 actual goals. I'm sure he will rebound next season. Who knows though??
Not sure why you are insisting on this. It's over. Finished.
Just a note. Apparently according to analytics, the Washington Capitals should not have made the playoffs last season. You know that season that they just won the Cup? What does that say about analytics & the way some use them &/or interprète them? |

Let's say you had $10,000 to invest and you had two choices:
Choice one: An investment with a 14% return.
Choice two: An investment with a 5% return.
Which do you choose? |

Apart from it having zero to do with hockey or what we were discussing, where can I get a 14% return on 10k? Or are you hypothesising? Didn't your mate the other day scream & shout about dumb hypothesising?
Over here I'd be lucky to get a 5% return on 10k.
Please, don't reply any more. I'm going to follow that 'protocol'. |

Given that Karlsson plays the right, the obvious move would be Schultz. I think Maatta has the far superior contract and is the better player anyways.
This is a video game trade and will never happen, though. - Victoro311

The team wasn't far from another Cup last season - Aussiepenguin
I still can't believe we lost against the Caps in 6, and that somehow the Lightning did as well in 7 and then VGK in 5 is still like a bad dream... all the Crap -jokes are now simply gone... Last 3 cups for Metro with 5 teams qualified... for those wondering about the best division in hockey. |
