And for arguments sake, here is what those players that hamstrung the team with their NTCs returned in trades.
Kesler - 1st, two roster players
Bieksa - 2nd
Garrison - 2nd
Burrows - Dahlen
Hansen - Goldobin, 4th
Hamhuis - nothing
Higgins - nothing
Here are what Benning has gotten for his signings:
Motte from Vanek
Liepsic from Holm - Lindenis#1

Its not often you have an amicable parting of ways where everyone is super chill and gucci yet 2 of the 3 names involved won't make a public statement beyong social media. - Lindenis#1
Yup. I thought (and said) that he was fired and it was just genteel. I'd be surprised if he didn't get paid on the way out the door, and that a non-disclosure was part of the package. |

I believe it. The hardcore fans who don’t go to games don’t realize how out of touch casuals are.
Some of them know what they’re talking about but a poop load of them do say thing like “Stetcher has all star potential” - Nucker101
"That young Dorsett kid could be a real power forward once he gets some experience under his belt. Great FA signing by Gillis" |

Its more pointing out that those guys pulled a return, and a decent collection of them, despite all the griping over their NTCs while Bennings trade history on expiring players has been abysmal.
It doesn't even take into consideration all his other cash down the toilet trades.
Whoever is running the pro scouting needs to be launched into the sun. - Lindenis#1
Brackett is in charge now but that is only in the last two years. |

Green has used Sutter effectively. Sutter, Edler and Tanev are by far the most useful vets on this roster.
His contract isn’t even that bad with the cap rise.
He’ll go back to be a whipping boy if Green starts using him like WD did though. |

From all my experience working in PR/marking, this is a classic firing but you're trying to gloss it over for stakeholder confidence hoping most people are too dumb to recognize it.
I'd expect he's getting his contract at around 80% to full value depending on term remaining. |

Or no pro scouts is better for what its worth. JB is a well known rink rat & should add to his agenda doing some of his own pro scouting. Hiring another management person is more than obvious to lighten up JB’s duties. Fire JW for all i care about him. Add more to Judds plate & 1 more mid management type to groom. Maybe a Hunter for example but feel free to suggest other names. |

^ this makes sense, though I'm wondering if JB is going to sit on his hands until he & the coaching group see how everyone looks at training camp... - SlightlyOffside
I see JB has no choice unless a GM approaches him with a nobrainer deal.
Our assets are not deep enough nor should we deal from weakness. Xmas til the TDL is when i expect it to heat up. |

Interesting. The Canucks don't have the management/coaching staff listed on the website.
Or if they do its buried somewhere. Used to be able to find it with 2 clicks. |

He couldn't perform to a less expensive contract. What makes you think he can perform to a more expensive one? - Lindenis#1
There is nothing i can go on other than in TG’s 2nd season he finds a fit & makes EG perform. EG has done nothing to indicate he leads a D pairing. |

To TG’s credit he deployed them well.
Onto how good of a mentor & teacher he is for the kids is the HUGE task at hand. |

I found the actual one. I misread a heading and thought it meant something else.
It seems, as of their listings, on JB, Weisbrod, and Jonathon Wall ("analytics") are their pro-side guys at the top. No one listed as head of pro scouting. Just FA's old favourite player Lars Lindgren, Marc Crawford's dad and two dudes I don't recognize: Brett Henning and Neil Komadoski. |

There's no reason that you'd have a departure for the reasons they listed over anything else. Usually these kinds of departures happen after the season when everyone else is "mutually parting ways" and getting fired.
Not in the middle of summer at 5Pm on a Thursday after the guy leaving talked mere weeks ago about how excited he was for everything in the short term future: retiring the Twins sweaters, draft, incoming youngsters, 50th anniversary. |

He is also the casualty of poor partners & injuries. He’s lost with us being so unstable. He is not a leader on a pairing but his role is best suited as a solid complimentary partner. |

Henning is Director of Pro Scouting - VANTEL
Its always interesting looking at these scouting charts. Like in Edmonton it just so happens to be full of former Oilers, ex-Oiler siblings, Chiarelli's brother, and MacLellan's dad.
Here, it just so happens to include Jimbo's kid, former Canucks from the 80s, FA's favourite player as a kid, and Crawford's dad. |
