Benning sounds like a lying, two-faced, 'who me' in this article. He comes across like he's clueless as to what's going on within the ownership / management dynamics - LeftCoaster
Or he could just be doing the right thing by keeping his mouth shut. |

I think there was a thing going on between TL and FA and Benning was caught in the middle. He doesn't seem like the type to back stab . I think the owner went up to JB and said you are dealing with me now . What do you do if that happens?
I also think Aquilini has the right to tell them to go Fak yourself we are not starting a rebuild now, what have you been doing for the last 4 years. I would be pissed as an owner if the club is now looking to rebuild after being that bad for 4 years. - VANTEL
From everything I've read or heard discussed, it sounds like Francesco thinks after four or five years at the bottom they should be in a position to compete for the playoffs and they're nowhere near that, which pisses him off.
To be fair they've only been really bad the past three years, they've got another three to go before they're remotely competitive in my opinion. |

Its possible. But until the truth comes out, both scenarios hold the same weight.
To say JB didn't know what was happening between FA and TL is a bit disingenuous.
It really boils down to this, is it worth your job/career to back TL? JB has a lot more currency in the league than TL, so probably not... |

The problem with FA's logic, he (frank)ed the whole rebuild up by insisting the Canucks try to remain competitive.....which undoubtedly was his call.
This whole mess is on FA.....unfortunately, he's the owner, so he's the one who isnt going anywhere...... |

I would suggest Linden has a lot more currency and respect around the league. Benning is trying to steer clear of this and keep/do his job. But as I said, he comes across like he's Mr. Innocent, which I've been lead to believe is as you said, "disingenuous". |

If he infact laid out a business model that says these are our corporate goals, remain competitive, which certainly appears to be the case, then yes, everything boils down to him.
He's not gonna be happy when they suck over the next two years |

Doubt it. Benning has spent his entire post-NHL career working in the NHL in different capacities, help build Buffalo in their last successful period and helped build Boston into a Cup winner......Linden did what? NHLPA while he was a player, then what? |

A LOT of the current management groups are Lindens peers and former NHLPA members. I don't think anyone really cares about Bennings experience as a scout or assistant GM, what they care about is the rapport they have with a well spoken Linden. |

This very likely isn’t gonna happen. It’s more likely that Edler is given a contract extension before the TDL. - Nucker101
I could actually live with an extension (in the summer). If it meant trading him as a rental. 2 years max. He wants to be here so bad, we should have leverage..... |

I buy what Benning's selling in this latest chapter of "What Happened With Trevor."
Today's also my last day in Kamloops, so I have a bunch of thoughts on the Canucks prospects and some fantasizing about Quinn & Jack Hughes becoming Vancouver's next great brother combo in the new blog:

I disagree with your attempt at agreeing. Linden was president of the NHLPA, that's not a mindless job. Burning was a scout and assistant GM who averaged trading Seguin for eriksson. Linden and Shanahan ended the lockout. |
