The problem was trying to shelter him by putting him on the wing. They just should have let him play center and live with his mistakes. Coming back from the lockout people expectations about this team were pretty low anyway.

The only way Domi succeeds in MTL is if they trade Patches. Domi needs those empty net goals to pad his stats more than anyone.
