Take a look at Toronto in 2015-2016 season. That's what the Sens need; have a terrible year and add a Hughes to Tkachuk, Brown, White, Chabot. It's the ONLY way to make sense of what's going on and actually have a chance to contend ...one day - AlfieisKing
Why would NYR make this trade? F the Rags, but this makes no sense for them. Someone's first round or decent prospect has to go to NYR. Zach Smith and Varlamov doesn't cut it, especially when they are taking salary.

I think that if the Flyers play TK on any other lines than with G and Coots, for any significant amount of time, he won't be getting paid anywhere near $6M. He isn't really that good. A player that needs to be elevated by his linemates instead of elevating them isn't worth north of $3M. And Laughton will be lucky to get league minimum. - hockeyal
Forwards who need to find the right chemistry with linemates and play with other offensive players to produce well describes about 95% of the players in the league.

Man I really think you say things just to get people worked up. I live in Nashville and these southern folk down yonder make more sense than you do.
Remind me again how many goals TK put up last season. And I think every player looks better playing with talented line mates so you saying that is irrelevant.
TK is great and is only beginning to fine tune his game with constant development ongoing.
Laughton put up a good amount of points playing on the 4th line. Imagine what he could do with more talented wingers. I fully expect Laughton to have a strong season if they give him some consistent wingers. I will call it now.
Right now he is getting the schenn special. No consistency at all

Sporting news have flyers with #2 farm system
- wcorvette
Taken from that review
"It's easy to lose track of how many general managers talk about the importance of building a deep farm system. But count on Ron Hextall as being one of the few who has been patient enough to actually go through with the process of stockpiling picks and allowing them to develop properly. Constructing the league's deepest prospect pool hasn't been easy, as the Flyers haven't won a playoff round in six years. Yet still, the future is extremely bright. Not only for the young stars already playing the NHL, but also for selecting elite youngsters outside of the top 10 like goalie Carter Hart, center Morgan Frost and super-slick winger Joel Farabee."
