Really need to understand what Carolina was thinking. Picks are okay but didn’t get a first. The prospect is okay not great. What is Dundon doing here other than to lower his payroll? Skinner wouldn’t waive his NTC to go elsewhere?

Ya, I’m not guna pretend I know anything about CAR prospects but the article Jim posted before doesn’t even have Pu in their top 10.

Word was that Skinner had Buffalo as a higher favorite on his list of teams he would be willing to waive his NTC to be dealt to. That was most likely due to Buffalo being close to his hometown of Toronto. Many teams likely feared acquiring him due to his pending 2019 UFA eligibility and his prior concussion history, as well as possibly his defensive struggles last season, as dictated by his team worst, (-27) +/- rating for the Canes.
That could be why Carolina GM in Waddel had said in close, but not exact words, that "it was the longest he had worked, in taking two months to make any "one player trade", because we never felt like we were receiving any value offered". He also mentioned that he had no off season contract discussions with Skinner to possibly extend him.

I'd be shocked if Skinner signed long term with Buffalo and gave up a chance to become a UFA next summer

Cliff Pu was traded for Jeff Skinner. Cliff Pu was a Buffalo prospect. He was ranked 9th in the Sabres organization by Steve Kournianos of the Sporting News.

He's Rick Nash but unlike Rick Nash, Mark Stone scores goals while being a great two way player.

In Nash's age 25 year he put up 33 and 34 in 76 games compared to Mark Stone's 20 and 42 in 58 games. So yea, . It's just simple things like... google, that can help prevent looking like a fool
