I thought the record stated they left amicably, not fired, not quit, he left on amicable terms...for the record, the official Linden and Aquilini record, not the Steve Simmons record, not the HB record, not the media mouth piece record. - Makita
Case in point that too many ppl see the optics there or not. Media driven lemmings. Why are there good writers & poor writers?
Poor know who to troll for & thats easy pickings. |

The Buffalo Sabres have acquired forward Jeff Skinner from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for forward Cliff Pu, a second-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, a third-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft and a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. - VANTEL

No worries my friend, the majority here can all align themselves to the negative Nelly perspective, and this site was created for rumours and speculative comments.
All I am doing with my comments is voicing my own thoughts 25% of the time and then 75% of the time throwing out ludicrous comments because a) I read it somewhere and really liked the comment and how it can agitate certain posters (ie. Benning is a genius)
b) some posters become a little too caught up in their own narrative that a little subtle levity is required..(ie. Benning is an idiot, Benning is ruining the rebuild, Trevor is a lame duck Pres.)
So don't put too much stock in what I post because I certainly don't.. - Makita
Hearsay & speculation gets tossed out in a court of law. In here well...

I was trying to keep the drama going.
I look forward to Nighthawk responding to every comment in an hour or 2. That should stir up the embers for the afternoon crowd. - Marwood
I take the middle road most often.
Rather talk hockey not politics sorry.
Some actually talk politics not even hockey related. Drama wise some is ok but low in value the majority of the time. |

Well, he would fit into the plan of getting younger & faster. - Marwood
He has a Cup ring so he and Beagle can stand in the middle of the dressing room and the other players can gawk at them, because apparently young players need to be taught about the importance of winning. None of them really thought about it before...
Horvat to Petterson: So, what is winning?
Petterson: Gee, I don't know. If only they overpaid some old guys to tell us while we dragged their sorry asses around the ice.
Horvat: Word. |

As a gent that has been on hockey locker rooms for over 30 years, I understand what they are saying. Having older leaders in a room with a track record of performance is critical. Imagine having Hughes starting this season and he has a guy like Hutton to mentor him! Sure, they speak about mentorship too often but it is certainly important |

I really think this is overblown . Trevor is gone and I don't care . Jim will be gone and I don't care . They were both in over their heads and we knew it all along .
I like Travis Green Judd Bracket and Ryan Johnson and I want them to keep doing what they are doing.
Don't give a sh1t about this soap opera . Jim is too dumb and too honest to stage anything as smart as a coup.
There are lots of good young players coming up and I do believe Canucks did a good job over the last two years but Benning is still a dummy . - VANTEL
One question if i may...
Who rebuilt the organizational team top to bottom doing the firings & hirings?

Why?
Benning said today I don't get involved with politics . I have enough trouble finding Dmen to play on the PP ( That is troubling) (Not something you should openly admit as a GM trying to rebuild a team)
Next
If we were trying to make the playoffs I would have signed Neal not Beagle. ( Beagle must feel very good hearing that and are you saying Beagle isn't very good ?Then why did you sign him?)
Benning is a dummy make no mistake about it . |

Mentorship by players who are net negatives on the ice loses its value real, real quick. It's one thing to get a guy who has won who can make a real difference and set the tone on the ice, but it is another thing to get 4th liners, overpay like crazy for them, and have that be one of the reasons why you do so. Plus, honestly, they've been playing the "winning culture" card for three years and, well, they're ain't been much winning, and I don't see many people betting that there will be much this year either. |

Del Zottos last year . We should have 2 new D by TDL.
Gagner will probably be gone this year
The beauty of Brouwer being waived today Jim can see it can be done and do it to Loui send him to Utica if he can't trade him |

We will get a top 6 this year . People forget we want EP as a #1 C, Bo as 2C and Gaudette as 3C .
I don't really care if we get Jack Hughes I prefer not to actually. Don't need more brothers that are inseparable .

I cannot imagine Aqulini giving the thumbs up to burying Eriksson in the minors and still paying that freight.
Even if these guys go, the moves are still d'oh!

Ya was thinking the same thing earlier. Beagle would surely be impressed to hear that. Benning is on a 12 month plan from FA and I'm willing to bet two of those months have already passed. I say he has about 10 months until he has the 'big meeting' with FA lol |
