Bad teams don’t mean you shouldn’t try in your own end though
It would be nice if he could just be “ok” defensively

If you had to think of the most GMTM move that he would have probably have done this summer what do you think it would have been???
I think he would have traded Risto and Samson for Karlsson and Bobby Ryan. I just think that has him written all over it.
Would have resigned Kane to a big 8x8 deal too I bet.
What do you guys think?
I bet he would have thrown a deal at Kovalchuk. Maybe a 8x13 at Tavares. Lol |

Take a gander at their goalies. At what point can Carolina continue to have "one of the best top-4 in the NHL," have the "best shutdown centre in the NHL," be an "analytical darling" and still constantly be one of the worst teams in the NHL before somebody calls them out? |

lol When you have trade difficulty set to 'easy'. #NHL19

I saw this and was dying laughing... I haven't seen a single person on Twitter say anything other than that Buffalo fleeced the Canes for Skinner.
And now even EA Sports and NHL 19 are getting in on the fun. LOL |

My hot take:
If Skinner re-signs, this is a huge Buffalo win.
If he's traded at the deadline, it's probably a tie, maybe a bit of a win: you'll probably get a little bit more back than what you gave up.
If he walks next July, Buffalo loses - but not a huge loss. |

If they make the playoffs and he walks, it might still be a win

Huh?
Skinner-Eichel-Reinhart
Sheary-Mitts-Okposo
Sobatka-Berglund-Pominville
Wilson-Rodrigues-Baptiste
Bailey
Girgensons
Larsson
Dahlin-Ristolainen
Scandella-Bogosian
McCabe-Nelson
Hunwick
Beaulieu
Hutton/Ullmark
That’s 25..... So at least 2
And that’s if Thompson & Guhle/Pilut are all in Rochester
So if any of them make the lineup,
could be more |

but what does any of that have to do with Skinner not making an effort in his own end? |

The Sabres are not in a state that we would be acquiring rentals. This player was traded for for the potential to become long term. I believe Botts mentioned in his presser last night that they'd see how he fit into the team dynamic prior to signing him. |

Any of that could’ve been possible under GMTM
Also would’ve extended Lehner |

Lemme assist here.
Honestly, we don't have to trade a single person, if the team intends on sending Thompson down. Assuming all ELCs remain in Rochester except for RD and CM, that puts us at 23 players, including Reinhart and Nelson.
If you're going by the assumption Thompson is staying in the NHL, which was alluded to (nothing is guaranteed), you're now at 24 players.
Bailey and Baptiste are fringe players and may in fact both be sent down on waivers or traded for minimal returns. If one of them stays, they will replace Thompson or Johan Girgensons. |

I saw this stat online and it 100 turned my tide on my opinion of Skinner.
Did you know?
Over the last 3 seasons, Jeff Skinner is tied with Connor McDavid for 7th in the NHL with 74 even strength goals. |

I know OTT is in a bad place right now, but I don't think you can swindle them into saying the same player twice in a deal. Just saying... |

What’s better than having a puck carrying machine on your team? Having two of them. Skinner’s zone entry data rivals that of Eichel’s and would make up one of the most lethal offensive duos in the NHL. |

Bailey & Baptiste would have to clear waivers
Maybe Botts won’t mind losing them for nothing?
I’ve got them listed as NHLers though
I’m thinking Botts still wants to move a couple guys out
Homie has talked about him trying to pull a 4 for 1 trade to clear some guys out
I guess we will see |

I understand the tone of the comment, but the DLo for Redmond trade was seriously good. |

So what. They're 23. If they're on waivers, they're not worth much on the market.
You may in fact have them listed as NHLers, but if they're on waivers, the league thinks extremely little of them. |

Girgensons/Berglund/Pommer
is a really solid 3rd line IMO. Win faceoffs... grinding players.. Pommer lacks on D but I like it. They will score some tough earned goals.
Wilson/Erod/Bailey or Baptiste on the 4th. Keep Tage in AHL.
Get rid of Larsson. |
