Don’t think Ottawa would trade him to us. We’d have to get him as a UFA next year. - Pegullaville
Or get San Jose involved again, lol! |

I’d rather move the assets it would cost for Kessel, to get Stone from Ottawa
Younger, good scorer, great defensively - jdfitz77
He cant be moved till the deadline now I believe |

Stone is titties, doubt he’s getting dealt in the division. I want Dzingle from Ottawa - washedup20
Yeah, trading in division might be tough
Apparently Karlsson to Tampa was a possibility though
So maybe an inner division trade isn’t completely out of the question |

Why’s that?
Didn’t he sign before the arb award was given? |

Well we wouldn’t have to give up any assets that way
But we’d also have to pay him more most likely |

I thought the money he received was awarded by arbitration |

Florida with Ekblad?
Maybe that was his 2nd year though...
Not positive - jdfitz77
Missed playoffs his first year, and Brian Campbell was still their #1 guy when they made playoffs his second year, Kulikov and Ekblad kind of split first pair duties with him.
Tyler Myers?
Closest for a sabre at 19 - jcragcrumple
Yeah, wasn't 18, needed an extra year in juniors.
Expecting Dahlin to be ready to be a #1 defenseman at 18 seems pretty unrealistic, especially if you are talking about making playoffs, and when you remember some of Sabres forwards are pretty suspect defensively. And that's not a knock on Dahlin. Even the absolute best defense prospects tend to need a couple years after getting drafted before they can be relied on to carry the defense. I would expect it's more likely Scandella is the Sabres top pairing LHD until Christmas, while Dahlin adjusts to the NHL. |

To make the playoffs,
we’d pretty much need everything to go right for us
So yeah, it’s probably a bit of a long shot
I think the point is that we can FINALLY talk realistically about being in the race for a spot though
We are headed in the right direction |

Ottawa is probably under the delusion they can sign him
So they might not move Stone till the deadline...
In which case,
we could possibly get him at quite the discount |

The amount of poop talking leafs fans are doing is incredible considering their major recent accomplishment is getting bounced in the first round twice in a row |

I’m surprised you haven’t realized the Leafs are the most exciting team in hockey. Just ask their fans |
