Billy Joel seriously?
Early foo fighters was excellent. I know what your getting at but they actually have a lot of good stuff. Listen to “all my life”, “stacked actors”, “this is a call” and tell me it’s radio filler crap. In your honor was a cool album |

I have nothing against a band being mainstream. The Arctic Monkeys are super main stream, so is Kacey Musgrave......one of my all time fav bands is the Beach Boys...commercial success is not a factor in when I judge music.
The reason I hate the Foo Fighters is because they are not interesting. They are rock and or roll by the numbers, and they are about as artistic as Britney Spears (who i like 100x better than the Foo Fighters).
I absolutely hate boring radio rock for people who don't like music that much. You'll never find a hardcore music fan who ranks the Foo Fighters highly. There's nothing wrong with that - its cool to like what you like.
But personally, I am all about things that are interesting - however that manifests itself.
The Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Phil Collins, Kenny Chesny and Bill Joel. I consider that the worst lineup I've ever heard of. Its boring music for boring people. Just my opinion. - james_tanner1

It's another example of a Tannerism
If I hear a song I like, I listen, if not, I turn the dial!
I'd bet $10 that most people would laugh at Tanner's music collection |

"You'll never find a hardcore music fan who ranks the Foo Fighters highly"
Asinine statement and another opinion stated as fact.
You also misspoke when you said personally, I am all about things that are interesting.
You should've said "personally I am all about things that I FIND interesting.
Which bands are good and which are the best is subjective. I personally don't like most of the music that you post but that's just an opinion. Personally I think R.E.M. is horrendous but some like them. To each their own. - MJL
Just fyi, I talked to my buddy about the Wilson signing.
He felt the team was still paying for potential. Wilson is one of the fastest players on the team, has some skill, coach figures he can reign in the bad penalties, play like he did in the playoffs. 5 mill will seem like an fair number if that happens. Remember lucic isn't as fast, etc etc makes way more.
Also, might be a lockout in 2022. Player probably wanted some good paydays in case of lost season beforehand. |

Thanks. It still seems a bit surreal. I have followed the Caps since 1977, had begun to think that maybe I wouldn't live long enough to see the Caps hoist the Cup. It seems to be sweeter when the Caps win it all in a year that lots did not think they would even make the playoffs. |

The Arctic Monkeys were on Colbert last week and they are headlining a show tonight at the ACC, which is the 20K seat arena where the Leafs play. You don't headline arenas if you're not mainstream. - james_tanner1

Maybe in Canada, but most people in the US have no idea of who they are....that is any adult who isn't still in college |

If I'm a ten year old, what do you call three guys older than me crying because I made fun of their favorite band? You come on here literally every single day and say something mean/crappy to a complete stranger because you don't what he has to say about hockey.
And you're seriously going to make age-related maturity comments? |

Ween rules! I have not heard the Dean Ween Group, but I'm going to agree in advance that it's probably super sweet. |

This. Extremely talented, just like Dream Theater. Can't write an enjoyable song, just like Dream Theater. |

Also, while I agree that the Golden Knights is a horrible team name (and why are they "Vegas" instead of "Las Vegas?"), I would nominate the following team names as worse:
Minnesota Wild - what exactly is a "Wild?"
LA Clippers - toenails or fingernails?
Cleveland Browns - 'nuff said
New Orleans Pelicans - watch out, or they'll...what exactly do Pelicans do again?
Lastly, the California Golden Seals - it's pretty much the same, just makes less sense.
If we go the college route, I'll nominate these two treasures:
Scottsdale Community College Fighting Artichokes - how does an artichoke fight?
Amherst College Lord Jeffs - celebrating the man who gave Native Americans smallpox-infested blankets in the name of manifest destiny.
(Yes, I had to use Google for the Atrichokes).
Edit: Best name is pro sports has to be either the Wolfsburg Grizzly Adams or the Saint-Georges Cool FM 103.5 |
