If we got J. Hughes we'd be set down the middle for 10 years - Hughes, Petterson, Horvat and Gaudette. Hughes has superstar potential all over him, Matthews level. Thankfully Benning's moves this summer, by his own word, were not about getting to the playoffs (or he'd have got Perron etc) but making being poopty a little more tolerable (okay, the last part I added but it's basically what he means and even the first part of the statement was pretty honest)

He's always been pretty straightforward that way, even way back in 86-7 when he played for the Canucks, and Benning would hang out at the Savoy when we were all there checking out the bands during Shindig. We'd talk him up and he was a straight shooter - "we stink, but at least we're feisty...and I'll have another Rickard's Red too, kid."

Interesting, I've always leaned towards BPA unless need was important. Never trade down, always get your man no matter the position and Generational players could fetch a huge return.

Eric Lindros trade ?

- belcherbd

Get our man at any position?
BPA is not always that.
I meant we don’t trade.
Lindros trade was forced.

yes

also, good story

I've been pondering if you'd trade Bo to go from say 3+ to 1 oa for Jack if that's how things landed. Don't realistically think it will happen, and depends who else is there, but maybe. if not, what would be a reasonable cost to move up?

Quinn was amazing today. He's a game controller. That one A off the boards was awesome. Eyes one direction... hands/stick another, feet a 3rd direction...

He literally hangs the puck out daring everyone to reach... the cats and the rats dont fall for the cheese... but the mice do.

So glad I took off the spring fishing season off to rehab my arm and save money for an extra trip North in the fall. If all works well I'll be tapping into this record Steelhead run. Look at the test net results... when I say record... it is no exaggeration. I never thought I'd see the chart like this but there it is in all it's glory. I'm standing in a puddle of custard.

Don’t trade young for younger. There is literally no scenario where you get a good deal for moving up to #1.

Parents had friends and family over to celebrate my mother's 61st birthday. A lot of very drunk people

One of my aunt's said she was going to read to my daughter before she goes to sleep. Half hour later my daughter comes out and goes up to my uncle. She says your wife is passed out in my bed.

tough one. I think it would depend if Petterson looks like he will be a center following a year of play. I love Horvat, but you see the teams that win cups, they have that top end talent down the middle. Our lottery luck certainly doesn't bode well for getting the #1 pick, but who knows...Benning should send Quinn Hughes to the lottery. That would be dope!

On a baseball related note, it’s fantastic to see the jays sabotaging the mariners playoff hopes. What a perfect series for Canadian baseball fans
