Mad as a hatter but he gets a clean slate with Tkachuk ,Logan Brown , Jacob Bernard-Docker, Jonny Tychonick Alex Formenton Shane Bowers plus whatever they pick up for trades this year.

It will be interesting to follow a team of prospects and 50 mil in cap space .

I looked at the top prospects listed so far and I can't say I am too excited . No RHD in first round . Smaller players under 6 foot mostly . Lots of B rated centers aside from Hughes .

I know it is early and the top will rise to the head of the draft but this years class looked much better IMO

So glad I took off the spring fishing season off to rehab my arm and save money for an extra trip North in the fall. If all works well I'll be tapping into this record Steelhead run. Look at the test net results... when I say record... it is no exaggeration. I never thought I'd see the chart like this but there it is in all it's glory. I'm standing in a puddle of custard.

Probably in 99, Stefan was the consensus #1 pick but had Burke not traded for the 1OA and then traded it to Atlanta for the 3OA to be able to pick Henrik, Daniel might have actually gone first to TB (who had the 1OA that year before the Burke shenanigans) I can't recall where I read it, but TB had said that they were considering Daniel over Stefan had they kept the pick.

Out of boredom I was just reading Eks blog about Karlsson to Calgary or Edmonton . For once I could see this happening .

With Cgy buying out Brouwer it makes sense. They have the cap space and the pieces to entice Ottawa and it all comes down to Karlsson wanting to play and extend in CGY.

I think having the Tkachuks on the same team is the selling point . If they sign Karlsson they can't afford Hanifin and they have Kylington and Valimaki as LHD prospects still.

Interesting thought regarding Tkachuk. I think it will be cheap for Karlsson personally. He is a pending UFA coming off an injury and don’t forget they are trying to tie Bobby Ryan to the trade

I don't think Ryan comes into play anymore . They realize the clock is ticking and they need Ryan to reach the cap floor.


It would be centered around if you could extend Karlsson of course . You would not pay that price for a rental.

It would give Calgary the best D in the league for years. They also have a lot of forwards tied down .

They would be solid down the middle and a decent set of forwards with a very good D.
