A streaker - full monty - races across the outfield... My eyes may never recover from this one.

I find this hard to believe coming from a woman that has seen Brian Burke naked

They don't have a few good players they have 2 only and 21 passengers

RNH, Klefbom, Larsson, Nurse are decent pieces.

It gets ugly after that

Outside of Doughty and Hedman, I can’t see a legit argument for any other dman.

There an argument to be made that Karlsson has been the best player in the NHL the past 5 years let alone defenseman.

I don't think there has been anyone like him in the league since prime Lidstrom and Niedermayer. I might put him above those two as well considering the teammates they had.

I would say only Orr and Coffey were more impressive and he is in line with Bourque and some of the other all time greats.

Read this a while ago which tries to compare era's.

• A player’s point totals, even era-adjusted point totals, don’t show how good a player was defensively.

This is what Donna and I are saying. As a complete defender. If you ranked Karlsson on an offensive and defensive list. He would be tops on offence and probably quite a ways down on the defensive list.

Two parts to the game offence and defence.

His offensive contributions far outway defensive lapses in my mind. I don't really care about ranking players offensively/defensively. He helps his team win more than any other player in his position playing right now and arguably one of the top regardless of position.

I looked at the top prospects listed so far and I can't say I am too excited . No RHD in first round . Smaller players under 6 foot mostly . Lots of B rated centers aside from Hughes .

I know it is early and the top will rise to the head of the draft but this years class looked much better IMO

Both Tkachuk's are talented players...just don't want that jack assery here now that we are past the Burrows-Kesler era.

Exactly. I want my true number one dman to be able to play 30 minutes a night a night in ALL situations.
- CanuckDon

Thats a handful of D only in any year in the entire league. EK pretty much took the Sens to the conference finals on his own.

Coffey was sad at D. EK makes a team better & Coffey never did but was surrounded by HOFers out of his ying.

So I feel as if you proved a bit of a point here. Coffey sucked at D but had to be boosted by other players to win. Karlsson sucks at D and hasn't had enough to boost him to win anything. Doesn't sound like a player that makes him team better except when he is having a decent season at playing defence. As I had stated before when Karlsson is a plus player 5v5 his team makes the playoffs. When he isn't they don't make it.

As Blecher said his scoring outweighs his defensive lapses. The team needs him to score and play decent defence.

How do you get a prolific scorer, someone who had put together six straight 100-point seasons, to buy into being a two-way player if that's what you think the team needs?

In the case of Steve Yzerman, all Scotty Bowman had to do was ask.

"I mentioned to him that his stats would go down, but hopefully the team would do better," Bowman told NHL.com of one of his first conversations with Yzerman when he took over as the Detroit Red Wings coach in 1993. "He was the reason that it did better because he understood what it took and he wanted to be on a winner."

There are quite a few CHL forwards this season that had really good last seasons. The USDP 17s had a really strong season. Leaning towards the look of the 2015 draft.

if this were true of nhl Dmen then jordan subban would have made it here. Wicked shot and very good offensive abilities. His Defense keeps him an AHL player.

Have you seen the YouTube video of those two right before a faceoff? Johansen calls him a POS, it's pretty funny. Where this stems from.
