I don’t think ppl expected him to destroy the league as soon as he was drafted, but a decent season in the ahl for an 8th overall pick would be nice.
His issue imo is he has shown next to nothing since being drafted, went to the wjc as an almost 20 year old and put in like 7 points only one was a goal. That’s not what is expected from a high draft pick almost two years into his development, sure he’s young but if he doesn’t take a huge step this year, he’s moving into bust territory imo.

I actually have hope that this team will be in contention next year. I know that isn't the common ideology, but we added a lot more than we lost...AND personally I believe we underachieved last year.

Healthy Eichel, strong showings by Mitts and Dahlin, Skinner scoring 30+ and some solid goaltending...we won't be a powerhouse by any means but a playoff caliber team??? This clown says perhaps.

its gonna be tough for anyone to really know how the Sabres are going to play this year.. half the team is new and only the second year of coaching for Phil..

I could see them strugglingly mightly out of the gate and digging a hole they just can't building themselves out of but i also see them starting with fire and sticking with the upper middle all year to contend for a spot.

this roster is on par with c bus, flyers, panthers

IMO better then devils, rangers, canes, islanders, wings, sens, habs

definitely agree. I hope Olofsson has a strong camp and makes the team. I would like to see him on the third line. 3 lines with speed and skill and potentially a serviceable 4th line. If they have the players to roll 4 lines, quick shifts they will be fun to watch.

Devils have a pretty good team, so would say they're another on par club, but that's the point...if we are greater than or equal to most of those teams, we're in for some exciting hockey finally.
