Islanders have been garbage at drafting out of the first round . Absolutely horrible.

Their first round picks have been hit and miss also Barzal JT and a few have been excellent butMDC and Ho-Sang the same year in the first round is brutal. Reinhart Strome ouch.

Until next year when its the next 2 kids. Im fine waiting but no more louo erickssons no more gagners no more beagles. 2 year max for vets. If the kids arw good they will learn how to win. If they arent they will be edmonton.

Our prospect pool is good but not in the correct spots. No center deptg EP obviously is a winger as much as we hope he is a center. We have zero de other than Hughes. Cross your fingers on juolevi and we have 2 top 6 dmen wow. Its gonna be a while which is fine but no more 4 year and 6 year god damn contracts stoppong kids from playing. Frick

I wish Benning had made 10-11 more picks over the last 5 drafts.

I think our scouts have finally turned the corner. I don't expect all prospects to make the NHL but I do think Canucks have drafted 5 or 6 NHL players in the last 3 years and now they need time to develop

I think Gadjovich has a better shot than Lind at it, unless Lind vastly improves this year.

I like our prospects, it’s just really hard to become an nhl player now. Pettersson and Hughes for sure, the others I’m just hopeful at this point.

I think there will be one or two surprises and plus you have Dahlen Demko and Brisebois who look like NHL ready so there is plenty of opportunities .

We are looking at 7-8 players plus Gaudette . That is plenty.

Good drafting not great but terrible management. After 5 years every part of our team and farm team is terrible minus a handful of prospects. Im still a fan but this is easily the worst the franchise has been since Keenan you cant defend it at all.

I have no problem with last years signings . Short term not expensive .

Del Zotto led the team in hits and was tied for first in goals on D

Gagner took a bit to get started but at the end picked up his game

Burmistrov 1 year 1 mil gone

Neilssen 2 year back up as Demko gets more time.

I look at Buffalo as the benchmark for young players and prospects. I get to wonder how far behind are the Canucks

The same can be said about any team. You said a lot of ifs to succeed but the other side would be it would need a lot of ifs to fail too. You know the saying it will probably be somewhere in the middle

Also if you got time check out game 7 2011...although the game is over by the end of the first...one giant quit job by the youknow whos.

If anyone crunches the numbers i’d like to know where all these prospects play?
Who makes the Canucks & those who don’t how do they fit in in Utica?
The math says all these picks or those who wanted 10 more from the past 5 years gotta play somewhere & not 3/4th lines in Utica or buried in the ECHL.

Drafting NCAA & Euros lets them stay where they are but sooner or later not enough ice to go around. CHL for 1 more year also helps. Eventually the 50 contracts will be spread out between Van & Utica but leaves no vets in Utica.

Summary...it will come down to more elite talent not the quantity of picks. Asset management when deep on picks & prospects will happen if drafting continues to go well.

I wish Benning had made 10-11 more picks over the last 5 drafts.

God I hope Pettersson can play center and excel at it, would go a long ways to solving the clubs problems. They’d be better way sooner than later!!
