If the agents were just measuring points/ goals, it would be easy to sign guys. That's not all nhl players bring game in and game out. Guys get paid for being playoff contributors and winning the cup.

I bought my 4yo niece a #15 Eichel jersey as well. D'oh. On the plus side, it'll show that you and I bought in before the sabres got good again.

There's a compelling theory that you should just bridge everyone, except franchise players. You're less likely to make costly mistakes and are able to lock the player up through their prime. Sam's really the poster child.

Sam might improve, but his role could also diminish as this team improves. There's no reason to gamble, and no reason to even think he'd sign a team friendly long term deal to begin with.

I've personally talked to two ex BN journalists. Both, as you can imagine, say he's even worse as a human being, and even credit part of the reason they left is because of that poopwagon.
