There's a compelling theory that you should just bridge everyone, except franchise players. You're less likely to make costly mistakes and are able to lock the player up through their prime. Sam's really the poster child.
Sam might improve, but his role could also diminish as this team improves. There's no reason to gamble, and no reason to even think he'd sign a team friendly long term deal to begin with. - Lunaion

This is a synonym for “unemployed.”
Plumbing and/or electrician apprentices are killing it these days. - Der Kaiser
I push these professions from my office on the daily. Too many guidance counselors are forcing the middle and upper class kids to go to college and completely brush off vocational skills.
I wanted to be a carpenter. "Nope, you want to be an engineer" "ok"
Plumbing, machining, electricians, machining, carpentry, metalworks... all great paying jobs.

Agreed, but that is only a one year deal and Stone will cash in next year.

He wanted $9m per, so if gets that next year and we're paying Sam $7m per, would that not seem fair? - adambuffalo

3) Alex Nylander
When the Sabres selected Alex Nylander eight overall in the 2016 draft, there was understandable excitement. After all, they were getting a player who arguably should have been picked higher.
As a creative playmaker and talented scoring, Nylander was just what the Sabres were looking for. And yet, fair or not, this coming season is an important one for the winger.
That’s because the 20-year-old has not made as much progress as expected. And we’re not even talking about the NHL level, where he has a couple of points in seven appearances over two seasons.
During his first year in the AHL with the Rochester Americans, Nylander actually finished with the worst +/- rating on the team (-24). And his second season got off to a terrible start, when he missed the first two months through injury.
Unfortunately for the Calgary, Alberta native, even when he did return, his situation didn’t particularly improve. This was best exemplified by being demoted to the fourth line and losing his power-play spot during the first round of the AHL playoffs, as the Amerks were swept by the Syracuse Crunch. - homiedclown

I've personally talked to two ex BN journalists. Both, as you can imagine, say he's even worse as a human being, and even credit part of the reason they left is because of that poopwagon.
This was certainly alluded to by multiple Tim Graham tweets, and a Lauren Brill tweet.

Any Athletic subscribers here? They have an article today about how the Atlantic teams stack up against the Caps and curious what they say about Buffalo. - adambuffalo
BUFFALO SABRES
1. Great centers – The Sabres are eventually going to get there in this category. They have one in Jack Eichel. It sure looks like they have another in Casey Mittlestadt. But it’s still too much of a projection to give them full credit. Half a point with the expectation that it’s a full check mark by next season.
2. A game breaker – This is where the addition of Jeff Skinner is going to pay off. He fills a real need with the Sabres, especially following Evander Kane’s exit. He may not be the perfect player in terms of his play on both ends of the ice, but he’s also capable of 30-goals. Maybe more. He’s coming off a 24-goal season, so we’ll go half point again here.
3. Offensive defensemen – Rasmus Dahlin is another future star we’d like to get a full season look at before doing any evaluations on how he’d project on a Cup winner. But the combination of him and Rasmus Ristolainen should provide offense from the back end. This defense could still use another option on this front, too.
4. A core hardened by the playoffs – Not yet.
5. Size – The additions of Conor Sheary and Skinner don’t help the cause on this front, but the Sabres have a nice mix, and the additions of guys like Patrik Berglund and Tage Thompson up front help balance it out. Defensively, there isn’t a guy smaller than 6-foot-2 in the group of Dahlin, Ristolainen, Zach Bogosian and Marco Scandella. Check.
Total – 3 out of 5 with room to grow. The hardest part about building a Cup winner is landing the franchise centerman to go with a franchise defenseman. That the Sabres have that in Eichel and Dahlin, along with a potential No. 2 stud center in Mittlestadt bodes really well for this franchise. Now, it’s about gaining experience and filling out the rest of the roster. It’s set up really nicely right now in Buffalo. |

Anyone mind listening to a few of my new song demos and giving me some feedback or criticism? I've been working on something that has a bit more musical depth than stuff I've posted before.
Also I apologize if it comes off as spammy, it's just hard as an underground solo musician to get any feedback from an outside perspective. - chilliard77
I'd love to. |

The vas isn't too bad. Just need to sit on a bag full of frozen vegetables for a weekend. Your reward is ability to blow your load in any chick afterwards without consequence.
Congrats nonetheless. |
