how many play makers did they have last year besides jack and sam?
serious question - homiedclown
Is Sam a playmaker or just a supporting player? So far, I think the later.

His game is very subtle but he is a great passer with brilliant vision.
There wasn’t enough depth to put him with people who could benefit from and convert his set ups. So he is playing wing instead, where there are fewer opportunities to show those skills |

I think he is a playmaker that has been forced to become a scorer due to lack of talent on this roster |

For sure
But every time i said we didn’t have depth,
I’d just hear how it was all O’Reilly & Kane’s fault
And that they should’ve magically became better players when we got them - jdfitz77

I don't disagree, you can certainly see the passing. I just don't see him as a guy who creates many opportunities. Most of his offense comes from getting to the net, which I think surprised everyone.

Net front presence on the PP helps the goal totals. He’s got a great stick. Risto owes a lot of apples to Sam’s ability to redirect those pony shots. |

If he’s a good passer, he creates opportunities.
His offense comes from getting to the net because that’s the role he has been asked to play. |

Most of the exceptional passes I notice from Sam are in the neutral zone. Certainly a good thing, but a far cry from an Eichel backdoor pass that leads to a tap in chance that we see almost nightly. I rarely see Sam create those quality of chances.

Seriously?
You were more obsessed than anyone over them
And my actual point was that we had lack of depth
And no matter how much you liked to single out particular players who were actually good & say it was their fault we were losing
Depth scoring
Defense
and Goaltending
We’re all pretty weak for us,
and that’s being nice
The top6 would’ve had to be exceptional on a nightly basis to overcome all the weaknesses we had |

And literally 0 people didn’t think depth was a problem.
Saying that people only blamed Kane and O’Reilly is just incredibly off base |

I've said for a couple years, he's an elite passer from behind the offensive goal.
It's a unique skill |
