Interesting thank you .

Did you see the new ducks jersey btw ?

- gerbe75pts

I did, I am not a huge jersey fanatic for other teams but I like the Ducks one.

The only thing I really want is the Sabres to go back to Royal blue

Their 50th anniversary is coming up.

They should use the bottle cap and put a blue and gold goat in the middle of it or something cool

So far, Reinhart isn't able to hold his own line, or produce on his own.

If he shows he can do that, or if he shows he's consistently great with either Eichel or Mittelstadt, I'd pay him, but I'd rather do the bridge deal.

It would also be nice to know that he can play C/RW, but that nearly always looks bad. He can't produce from the 3rd line. He's not a driver on the top-2 lines, he's more of a passenger. I'm not saying these things will always be this way, but until it changes, there are warning signs against signing him long term.

- jcragcrumple

I get the skepticism. Your route is the safer course. I've seen enough that I would gamble on him, but there are some question marks here as you point out.

I think they should sign him to a 1 year deal, put him at center so he gets 30pts or less, then resign him.

What?

I want to pay him for what he's done, not what we hope he'll do.

2 years by $4.75-5 would be great with me. I like the kid, but let's see if this is his ceiling, or does he have 60-65 in him.

Drai was over a PPG in the playoffs on his own line
- sbroads24

Checking dobber it looks as though he played with McDavid the most still. (If I'm doing this right).

38.9 DRAISAITL,LEON - MAROON,PATRICK - MCDAVID,CONNOR
15.5 DRAISAITL,LEON - LUCIC,MILAN - SLEPYSHEV,ANTON
12.7 CAGGIULA,DRAKE - DRAISAITL,LEON - MCDAVID,CONNOR
6.8 CAGGIULA,DRAKE - DRAISAITL,LEON - KASSIAN,ZACK
5.1 DRAISAITL,LEON - MAROON,PATRICK - NUGENT-HOPKINS,RYAN
3.4 DRAISAITL,LEON - LETESTU,MARK - LUCIC,MILAN
2.5 DRAISAITL,LEON - LETESTU,MARK - MCDAVID,CONNOR
2.1 DRAISAITL,LEON - LUCIC,MILAN - MCDAVID,CONNOR
1.7 DRAISAITL,LEON - MAROON,PATRICK - SLEPYSHEV,ANTON
1.5 DRAISAITL,LEON - LUCIC,MILAN - NUGENT-HOPKINS,RYAN

That was 16-17 playoffs. Also on the PP 78% of the time with Jesus. 6 PPP in that span. He's a better player than Reinhart, but to say he's driving it all himself, I believe, is giving more credit than is due.

What does this have to do with Sam?

You asked who from that draft class who can carry a line. Drasaitl has...multiple times.

Sam is a solid player. He's proven jack poop to be considered anything more than that

- sbroads24

leon the great has 10 more nhl goals in 20 more games

Never said he was doing it all by himself. But he's proven he can.

He had a stretch of like 35 points in 36 games when McDavid broke his collarbone too.

it's sad really

all he had to do was keep his mouth shut, and he would have had a job here

but now he is crying to try to get a third of what the bills would have paid him

Exactly... and the more he opens his mouth the less likely someone signs him.

I thought you were mentioning him in response to the "who from that class can carry their own line" question. Apologies.

Casey Mittelstadt is expected to be Buffalo's number two center going into the 2018-19 season.

Mittelstadt will get every opportunity to lock up that spot at training camp. The Sabres traded Ryan O'Reilly in the off-season, so Mittelstadt is the favorite to take over even though he appeared in just six NHL contests last season. The 19-year-old notched one goal and four assists. He is an early top contender for the Calder Trophy.
