How they turn out in retrospect doesn't affect their draft status, otherwise he would of never gone #1 overall. - Glak18
Yeah, I missed the part about pre-draft status |

Lots of interesting stuff from that podcast:
While I still wouldn't put money on it, I don't think it's as farfetched as some around here think that Carter Hart could be playing for the Flyers as their #1 goalie before the end of the 18-19 season. He's excelled at every level he's ever played at and it's not like he has to come in and unseat a stud #1 goalie, or hell, even a legit #1 goalie. I know Hextall likes to err on the side of caution, but if he's clearly their best goaltender in preseason, goes down to LHV and lights it up for a month and the Flyers during that time are only getting so-so goaltending from their vets; he could absolutely find himself in Philly sooner than most think.
I also agree with Jones' point that the young D having another year under their belts is huge and that Sanheim has major upside and could soon be an impact player. I also like that he feels that the Flyers were angry at themselves for how they performed in the playoffs and now have a better understanding of what it takes to win in the postseason.
I agree with him in regards to G regressing to the 80 or so point range, but also with the Flyers having more balanced scoring throughout the lineup and that Patrick will have much more of an impact this year. Personally, I can see Giroux finishing in the 80-90 point range and both Jake and Coots scoring 5-15 points less than last year. However, as a team, I think the Flyers will increase their offensive production this year due to adding JVR, getting much more from Patrick and Lindblom, having a healthy Simmonds and having a more experienced Sanheim on the roster and in the lineup all season.
Finally, I agree with Jones that the Flyers can compete for the top spot in the Metro. Every team in the division has at least some flaws and I don't see any team that is going to go out and put up greater than 105 or so points. - BiggE
Agree, just wanted to add I expect more from TK this year as well.
I don't know what it is, but I find Jonesy hilarious.

Obviously, no one made any offer for our #1 or #2 goaltender. As Lyon and Hart are probably both NHL ready, I think Hextall would have entertained offers on both. Next year, unless one has a great playoff, both are done. Savings in cap space too. - atlasgibbs

See I actually have that feeling about Frost. - J35Bacher
I think we need to slow our roll on Frost a bit. Watching some of his late playoff games and then at the summer showcase I just feel like he may not be quite ready for the rigors of a full NHL season.
He is one of those players who is AHL ready now but the age restriction is hurting him. I don't have a problem letting him play one more year in juniors rather than what I feel would happen if they put him in the NHL right now, which is wear down when the games start to matter and end up in the Cote suite.
As for Hart, I have the feeling he will be our starter before the season is over. |

Possibly. But I also think coming in as a 3rd line center he could be sheltered when needed. Also if there was a time he was struggling, i think he could be moved to wing and have someone like Laughton or even Lehtara if need be slide into the middle.
I still think he ends up in juniors another year but i also think he's going to make it very hard. |

Backing up a bit since I've been out of pocket. Jack Studnicka, imo, was the best Canadian player in the WJS. He really stood out. He's gotta be bigger than 6'1" where he's being listed.
Jack Hughes was the best American but Farabee, mentally, was where I was hoping to see him. He has the potential to play with Giroux and guys of that caliber with the way he thinks. The rest of the base of skills are there to go with the mind. He's going to be a hell of a winger for us for a decade. |

Tavares is overrated, never done anything. Playoffs what, twice? He beat the Panthers in the first round and people were ready to give him the King of NY title. Point totals are consistent but not eye popping. He's not Claude Giroux and never will be. |

Had that happen on vacation before I moved down. Left Marathon it was 89, flew out of Miami it was 95. Landed in Philly it was 108 and more humid. |

I know that this has probably been discussed but are the Flyers kicking tires on Panarin or would his salary be a crutch moving forward having to sign a few guys in the next few years. He is a world class player but logically do we have room for him, would obviously have to give up at least 2 good prospects and prob 2 roster players as well? |
