Seemed a little strange to me when I saw that the original logo isn't even among the choices for the 50th anniversary sweater. Why wouldn't you commemorate it by wearing what you wore then? Seeing stick&rink has a lot of support here makes it seem even more so. I understand those who don't care for it, as a kid the stick&rink was always at the bottom of my list of favorite hockey logos/sweaters. The flying skate was pretty cool, and is the best of all Canuck NHL logos, but those colors were hideous to my eye.

I was flipping through the channels and ran across re-runs of the old show, Carol Burnett and Friends. Carol came out to say hello to the studio audience and her funky 70's dress reminded me of this sweater. Same colors making a V on the front.
This sweater is the worst thing I've ever seen.

I'd imagine the year starts with the vet lineup and the kids earn more ice time. There's zero chance the kids start the year with top minutes if they weren't on the team last year IMO. Brisbois, Demko and Chatfield for sure. The rest have to earn it

Yeeeeaaaahhhh...don't think Vegas got it right either. Sh!tty name and a sh!tty logo major missed opportunity there IMO.

I know the Stick n Rink is basic but for me it works. Especially the newer updated version. Basic but traditional.

Personally I'd like to see a whole new logo for our 50th anniversary season, none of the ones we have and had look good. The "Stick n' Rink" is so minimalist that it's not even a logo, the "Flying V" is an atrocity to look at, the "Flaming Skate" isn't much better and the less said about the Orca and the Vancouver over it, the better.

Why not Johnny Canuck or maybe a stylized version of the cityscape.

Actually the Adidas practise jerseys logo look pretty good...make it a bit bigger for the main jerseys and it could work. Basically a small Stick N rink in a circle wrapped around by Vancouver Canucks.

Might be interesting to see a new logo or color scheme as a third. But they would need to actually let the fans put some input into the process for once. The skate was ok but it was the "going downhill" angle of it that upset a lot, (not to mention the colors.) Maybe a V using blue/green/white or the skate somehow incorporating blue/green/white. The old Whalers jersey always is at the top of polls on favorite logos so you don't need a complicated design, just a creative one.

I think it was Darius who suggested a whole new theme. I am all for that . A new time to turn a new era. New players a new look and a team that plays a new style. It's not like we are tossing aside a rich history or anything.

I personally like the green/blue/white colors as they are more in tune with our location but might generate some interest and some merch sales for the next while as we wait for the kids to come of age.
