I went to the driving range during the first half. Missed both Peterman and McCarron. Allen looked exactly as he sounded. He's got big play ability, but a lot of consistency issues. It's only the first game of the preseason, but if he doesn't start a game until 2019, I won't lose any sleep.

I came away with the same sense, but it’s clear he’s enthusiastic and he appears willing to learn. He is reportedly very bright, so the question in my mind is whether he has the ability to actually apply the technique lessons he will get as he’s getting coached up and pair those more sophisticated techniques with his raw physical skill set.

He could have thrown 3 long TDs yesterday but overthrew his intended receiver. Foster has the blame on one, but that first one he put out of bounds and no one was catching the other.

Honestly, I am not impressed or disappointed, he's actually what they pegged him as. I'm hoping we got Phillip Rivers or Big Ben here, but could just as well be another EJ.

driving home, I was listening on xm, and the fantasy guys were ripping allen (2 of them) because of his play. my guess is they were looking at the box score as the 3rd one must have watched the game as he had sound reasons to back up how allen looked decent.
