I saw a degree of separation between him and the other two. Allen has the most athletic ability by far, but needs work. Wasn't a fan of McCarron's play even though it wasn't awful. |

Great insight from Big Mike.
He had to throw the ball away a few times, even playing against Carolina's Twos. The game will be faster against anybody's Ones. He takes too long to read plays.
Peterman should be the starter while Big Rocket Man is learning technique. |

That seems reasonable. I'm not very knowledgeable with football, so it's just watching and comparing to other guys I see as successful QBs. Late throws were definitely what I was keying to as well.
Peterman and Rocket Man, let's go. |

She packed my bags last night pre-game
Zero hour 1 pm
And I'm gonna be high as a kite by then
I miss the start so much I miss my coach
It's lonely with the 3rds
On such a timeless flight
And I think it's gonna be a long long bomb
And touchdowns brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they said at the draft
Oh no no no I'm a rocket man

But right now we have “extras” so someone being sent down or traded would alleviate that issue
And the amount of $$$ is minimal
And having Sam & Skinner & O’Reilly long term is more than doable
I obviously can’t say for 100% certain...
but i think your arguments are unfounded - jdfitz77
I think it’s a little telling that they waited to deal O’Reilly before they added a scoring winger.
Again, I could be wrong but I’m not 100% sure we have Skinner right now if they weren’t able to find a deal for O’Reilly. It’s really easy to say if we kept O’Reilly, we’d be better.
Truth is we have no idea how Thompson will turn out, if Berglund has a nice year, Sobotka can be a decent 4th liner, or we even add other peices.

You're reaching.
The money in and out for the ROR deal is about even.
I think you're saying we went from a 1 long term high value deal with ROR to a several short term mid-value deals to replace him, so that when they expire we have the flexibility to pay Skinner. But after the Berglund/Sobotka/Thompson deals expire, we still have to replace them.
Where did we save money? |

These new contracts are probably pushing Sam's value to around 5-5.5 mil short term, 5.75-6 mil long term. |

I think you're right. I don't think they were going to add Skinner without moving RoR's deal. It's not because of this years cap, it's the long term projection. Three years out, the projections get really ugly with RoR + Kane/Skinner. JB needed to keep some flexibility to pay the next group of guys coming off their ELC's and I'm glad he did.
