So you would rather have sam.

I think playing in the nhl has more factors then just goals.

Centers are harder to find
Sam tried and couldn't hang at center

I know, it was his linemates fault

- Boss34

the team with the most goals win the game, not the most assists

🙂

I guess the trade hasnt really set in completely with me.

Bump sam down to at least 6

Eichel
Dahlin
Mitts
Risto
Skinner
Sam

- Boss34

I would be very happy with those 6 players on our team for the next 7 years

Brace yourself. Larkin only had 5 goals through 42 games last year. Sound familiar?

Except awful Sam had 7 through 40.

Sure Larkin got assists during the awful first half, but that's more a function of him being a center.

- Wetbandit1

Function of being a Center ? That’s weak. Would that not apply to Eichel and McDavid as well?

Neither did Larkin.
- Wetbandit1

Larkin probably had more leverage.

The part where : Larkin is the face of the franchise kinda

We have extra nhl players if you didnt notice

We'll see

Not sure if Tom wilson and sam reinhart are complete carparables.

One guy wears a ring
The other a purse

- Boss34

One guy also played with Ovechkin, Kuznetsov and Backstorm all year and managed to scrounge up 35 points. He wears a ring because of the aforementioned 3.

Jay Beagle and Alex Chiasson also wear rings.

Bandits points are generally weak.

You're new around here?

He can't distinguish between a guy standing in front of the net for tip ins and

A hard working, forechecking nhl playoff ready guy.

Somehow both are tough

I'm not sure if jbotts wants him for 7 or 8 years based on his 1/2 and 1/2 season.

I'm taking the under on vs. Larkins deal

Just an opinion.

- Boss34

You're moving the goalposts now though. At the start of the offseason it was $3M-$4M. Now we're +50%-75% of that.

Goals win games.

YAY!

Maybe Larkin wants to play for a good team and realizes Detroit isnt going anywhere - anytime soon?

Sam probably wants to be here
Sabres future is really bright

Jbotts isnt budging

Absolutely, have you noticed that centers get more points? They usually have the puck, which means they have a better chance to get assists. Go home troll.

Some of these narratives are just dumb. It’s like that D Man who can make tape to tape 60foot passes only gets points because he played with ___________....but such and such is better because defence and he plays on a team devoid of forward talent ( which usually means everybody back checks because that’s the only way they can compete).

That's what makes the discussions interesting.

Mitts is 3rd in my rankings
Kinda with risto 3a / 3b

Ahead of the guy that was drafted #2 in 2014
Not even close

So Jonny Gudrea, a winger who earned 84 points last season, is better than Jack Eichel who got 64 points as a Center because....wait a minute ...this makes perfect sense now.

Yeah, weak. Actual facts, but hey, we live in a post-truth world where you're allowed to have your own dumbass "facts"; like somehow explaining away that Wilson played with a top 5 guy(Ovechkin) and 2 top 30 guys(Backstrom and Kuznetsov) in the league and managed a whopping 35 points. He's not good. He takes way too many penalties, was suspended 3 times just last year, and takes a worse player off the ice with him when he fights, putting his team at a disadvantage.

Have I ever said Eichel was better than Gaudreau? Gaudreau is an awesome player. He also played 13 more games than Eichel. Try again.

Who’s arguing that fact? I like Tom Wilson as a depth player at 2.5 Million a year.

Ok so if you pro rate it to games played they are very ,very close, but Gudreau gets the edge because he’s a winger?

I think he's better at the moment, yes.

Edit: Gaudreau is better at the moment. He's awesome.

Double Edit: After this year I hope Eichel stays healthy and blows past him, but so far, it's Gaudreau.
