Signing cheap players aren't assets because they can't play in the league. The youth are better then these players already. Those players suck.

Beagle, Schaller, Roussel, Gagner, MDZ show they can play and contribute in the league.(While not as much as some would place on them).

Petterrson will close 27 goals this year. That is all.

If Loui is scoring 25 then of course you would keep him over a guy like Roussel

If Loui scores 13 and is paid 6 mil while a guy like Roussel scores 10 at half the cost and stirs poop and is better defensively then who cares about those extra 3 goals Loui gets.

If Benning ices his 13 best forwards then there is no issue. Just don't ice a team according to salary commitment .

With 10 x the population, even a small change in interest can have a huge impact. What's more impressive are the nordic countries with small populations graduating so many players to the NHL!
