You win Gaunce should be on the top line . Canucks need 13 players with Gaunces skill set . - VANTEL
No he shouldn't, but if you can't see how your point and my point are exactly the same, well, then as Don says, "you're an idiot" |

This is the exact same thing I have been saying about Gaunce v Beagle, except that Gaunce scored 4 in 37 games for one of the worst teams vs 7 in 79 games for the best team in hockey - 1970vintage

I don't know how anyone can't see that they will. - LeftCoaster
Well by removing Dowd Gaunce and a few others is a good start.
Saying goodbye to -21 and -22 +/- Daniel and Henrik is another way. I know someone will throw the fact they got 50 pts so I will end that right away. They accounted for 26 goals last year . Nine of them on the PP . 90% of that was setting each other up 45 of the 50 pts they were both in on together.
Better start zones for other players, another year experience and a healthier year should all favor Canuck expectations
I already know your argument Canucks will lose 100 pts with the Sedins gone .

If I'm wrong, I'm ok with that. Means they picked some good kids. But I seriously doubt they're better than last year and predict they'll have less points. - LeftCoaster
If Horvat , Boeser, Tanev and Edler stay healthy all season, and Markstrom is good Marky instead of bad Marky I think they will be right around the same spot. If injuries pile up again and they have to rely on depth, they will be in trouble. |

This team is worse than last years. They might have some good stretches but after 82 games they're bottom five....guaranteed. - LeftCoaster

It's not that. You hate Eriksson because he makes double what his production dictates. Beagle scored 3 more goals in twice the games as gaunce and will get paid 3 times as much but you live him because? Faceoffs? Guance is a fine 4liner.... nothing more. Beagle is to, except beagle is paid like a 3rd liner and has a NTC. Wtf is jb thinking? |

Beagle . Toughness , willingness to come to the aid of team mates, leadership, experience , better checker , better face off man, and more points.
Gaunce can score goals off his head and ass . Hits like a wussy and will never come to the rescue of a team mate.
You are right they are exactly the same.

You and I agree on this
The media was all ahhhhh, how are they going to replace 100 points? It isn't one for one. With increased opportunity players will improve their totals from a year ago. Baertschi will get 42 instead of 30 whatever, Horvat and Boeser will be running the PP, Gagner, Eriksson if healthy will score more.
Without the twins the team will be a step quicker and goals will come from unlikely places, like Gaunce on the 4th line |

If we are comparing last years teams to this years, other teams like Buffalo are going to be better than they were last year. Which puts us bottom five for sure. If there was ever a year to get the first overall this is it. |

I don't know why you have such a hard on for Jay, he isn't a scrapper, I dont't believe he is better defensively (checker), and time will tell if he is actually better offensively. I get it, you don't like Gaunce, he isn't going to be a first line player (or second, or third probably), I just don't get the Beagle love.

I hope Gaunce does score 15 goals that would be a hell of a gift for CANUCKS

Guance
CF% CA/60 FA/60. GA/60. PDO. OZS%
46.08 56.68 41.65 1.74 100.1 15.48
Beagle
CF% CA/60 FA/60. GA/60. PDO OZS%
39.15 63 46.35 2.15 101.9 25.74
Guance is a better hockey player by every metric, that's not even considering his zone starts. Beagle is better at faceoffs, being old, being overpaid and negotiating a NTC.
I hate facts as much as the next guy, but these ones are cold and hard. |

If if if.....there's always injuries. Bottom line is the team seriously lacks any offensive talent at forward or defence. |

Be pretty cool to get the other Hughes. Gotta think if Nucks are anywhere in that top 3 they’re going to make a big push to move up no? |

They actually do have talent it is you don't have the patience to let it grow. Brock Bo this guy Pettersson looks good as does Hughes |

Agree! Even if Pettersson has a great rookie season that still only leaves three players with offensive talent and a BUNCH of mediocre guys. |

Gaunce will score 7 because he won't have 15 percent oz starts.... due to the twins being gone.
