It has been said over and over by Canucks Beagle will undo some of the defensive responsibilities for guys like Horvat Sutter and let them take on more offensive roles .

Luongo will never be a recapture issue, like every other player he'll go on LTIR and get swept under the carpet.

Until he doesn't, I'm going to assume Benning fcks it up somehow

But just imagine how great our 3rd line is going to be with Beagle & Gaunce! Everyone thinks Benning signed an entire 4th line, but these guys are fast, they get in on the forecheck quick, turn picks over, create scoring chances for their line mates, and are great role models and mentors for the young guys. Rousel will probably play on the “2nd line” with EP and Sutter. Fast, hard to play against, and EP will make Sutter look like Stamkos. Beagle will C the 3rd line with Gaunce and Eriksson, they are going to put up some points, and all great defensively! Gaudette will get 4th line minutes with Schaller to watch his back and Granlund for some scoring pop.

Demko in by the 20 game make, playoffs baby!

I think you mean Stingerbell, real smart guy, knows his stuff. A little emotional, but real hockey fan

I do as do others. Anyone who thinks the beagle signing was good is a joke. The coach and Gm of course wants him to help keep his job while others want a crack a 1st overall pick in one of the next 2 drafts. You know to rebuild properly.
- mauryballstein

I was listening to a TSN radio show the other day and they had an NHL GM on the show (forget who) and they were asking him about tanking. The GM said that there really isn't a point in tanking because the draft lottery brings no guarantees. The proper rebuild is to play the games, use your assets to acquire younger players and picks. Pick the best player in your draft spot and develop them properly.

"Haula had a great offensive season, centering the second line with 29 goals and 55 points, but the line (along with the departed Neal and David Perron) struggled defensively. In fact, Vegas’ second line was one of the worst defensive lines in the league. “It produced, but the goals against per 60 minutes was not good enough,” said Vegas general manager George McPhee. “We were actually dead last among second lines in the league. You can just sort of look the other way on that or you can address it. We’re trying to address it.”

Gaunce traded to Vegas for a 3rd and 5th. He can play on their 2nd line.

Gaunce would score 25 goals in Vegas, everyone would complain about how he was underutilized.😁

It depends, on where your franchise is. If you're a poop team like the Canucks, it makes sense to guarantee your team a top five pick.

If you're a mediocre team, like the Flyers, then no it doesn't make sense. You try and be a playoff team without giving up picks and you draft and develop.

Tanking doesn't make sense any more. The NHL has taken the certainty out of the equation. Teams like Carolina and Philadelphia win lottery picks and Canucks drop to 5 , 6, and 7.

Just go out and play and keep your draft picks

Trying to remember who it was. I feel as if it was either Shero or Chevy.

Every year there is 5 other teams trying to get to the bottom. Vancouver doesn't have a lot of good players but still can't finish last. Not going to trade Bo and Boeser to finish last are you.

I know it is early still but next years best pick is Jack Hughes at this time. One team will win the first overall. There is no list of superstars for next year only a list of good players and an abundant number of centers. The top D is good not great .

Quinn Hughes has a very similar style to his brother so we sort of already have a copy of next years top pick. I hope the Canucks do draft around 10 th and pick up a nice reliable forward that can play top 6 .

Not on the tank wagon next year. Hoping for wins

I don't see Jack Hughes as a generational player. He's a great player who would help the Canucks. I'm not against picking anyone that would help the Canucks.

No, it definitely makes sense. Most bottom seven teams get great players or prospects.

Lots of great players throughout the first round. Just have to scout and find them, pick them and develop them.

It's not about getting to the bottom anymore, anywhere in the bottom seven almost 100% guarantees you a great player or prospect.
