It's summer we need to fabricate something to get us through

All of this early 2019 draft lottery talk is really annoying to me.

1) This team will be faster and bigger this year

2) Green will adjust after his first season as a NHL HC

3) I doubt the team will get hit as hard by injuries this year

4) Sedins were addition by subtraction as they were on their last legs.

5) Added Pettersson, Roussel, Beagle and Schaller up front.

6) Virtanen, Horvat, Boeser, Pouliot, Granlund, Leipsic, Goldobin, Stecher, Hutton, Gaudette, etc will all be a 1 year older.

7) Pettersson is an early calder favourite, Juolevi, Gaudette and maybe Demko should join the big club at some point this season.


Time for us fans to show this team some damn respect, already looking at top 5 picks next year is a slap in the face to them.

How is this team worse than last year? They're deeper and will likely be healthier.

I've said repeatedly last year that the Sedins are a 5v5 liability and need to retire. I may not love the contracts of the guys signed, but there's no arguing that they're decent players. Don't you remember my own posts back in June suggesting that Benning signs Roussel and Schaller? Beagle can play a Malhotra type role here.

And I've also said repeatedly that I believe Pettersson is talented enough to go straight to the NHL and skip the AHL.

The defense is still an issue and Markstrom is still a questionable starter, but the forward group got deeper and faster. Team defense should improve with guys like Beagle added, plus hopefully 1 of Tanev/Gudbranson can stay healthy. MDZ has been in the gym all summer and is in a contract year, I think he'll be motivated and at least be a decent 4/5 dman.

Malhotra? Beagle is a useful 4th line center. I might hate his contract but that comparison is funny. manny was a good if not great 3rd line center, beagle is not.

Dude. Wtf.

Beagle is the real deal. Not near the worst on the team. He's 3lc all the way, just look at his fancy stats. If anything he's underpaid for what he brings. His ntc should be a NMC.

This team is worse than last year, at least on paper. They'll be a bottom team just like last year. If they don't beat the Oilers last game they finish tied for 4th last.
