yuuup! - Arctic_AARDVARK
Wow. That's bad.
I mean, in real time, I thought it was good, so I can't blame them there. But a tournament like this should absolutely have review.
EDIT: Canada wins! |

Garbage. The US has every right to complain.
Did you see the 2nd goal that the US scored? It was amazing. One of them Lacrosse goals. |

Wooooow Mike...
You, and other people that spend too much time focusing on one thing in life tend to think they know more than everyone. Maybe you do, who knows... But to boldly proclaim that the Leafs will not win, like its a fact, if they don't upgrade their D is pretty rich. - Arctic_AARDVARK
It's a historical fact. The Leafs, as well as many other teams, don't win jack poop with bad defenses. It's not a coincidence that the majority of Norris winning D have either won the Cup or been to the Cup Finals. Defense definitely matters and definitely needs to be improved for the Leafs to improve their chances of winning games when it matters most. |

I don't think the boat will ever sail on that, since an upgraded defense is the likely key to them winning a Cup. I don't think they will trade one of the big 4, but they can get a deal done for a top 4 D with supporting players/prospects/picks.
The D corps you mentioned will likely be in Blue and White in 2020 or 2021. I do not think they will wait for internal options as their answer for an upgrade.
Washington's D was tough, mobile and experienced. - mikeinbuffalo
They need to go after Karlsson and if it costs Nylander, so be it. They don't need Nylander as much as they need a guy like Karlsson (legit #1 RHD Norris winner).
Fact of the matter is, Matthews, Tavares and Marner is more than enough offensive power to raise the game of those around them. They need the extra help on defense. Nylander is overkill up front at this point.
And, on top of Karlsson, they can still use another top-4 D which they can acquire through trading picks and prospects. A top 4 that includes Rielly, Karlsson, Dermott and another legit top-4 RHD (Pesce) makes the Leafs much more likely to succeed than trying to outscore everybody every game. |

And people will like Karlsson. Same hair, same country, just pretend it's still Nylander but he learned to play defense and can win playoff series by himself.
You gotta give to get. Sundin cost Clark. |

Amazing how things come full circle; Go Leafs Go chant at the Blue Jays game.
How long before somebody throws waffles and/or a Stroman jersey on the field? |

Don't do it. Don't waste the essential fats. Also avocados are expensive and delicious. Not to mention wasting the artisanal hand made slice of multigrain bread. Ugh |

Nice. 80’s hockey is back? - HonkyTonkMan
Not until they actually do something about the ridiculous goalie equipment.
If the goalies in today's NHL had the equipment sized from the 80's, the games really would be 9-8. |
