I think Homie wants to give him a key to his house for after hours purposes

I heard Sam reached his ceiling after year 2

His first season was better than his 2nd or 3rd. Coincidence that was the year Eichel stayed healthy?

So actually after his first year he reached his ceiling

so he is your new Kane

got it

kid had 3 different coaches in his short time here
averages 22 goals a season

and stinks

william nylander plays with much better players, reinhart has more goals yet reinhart stinks because he was on pathetic teams

- homiedclown

But all we have to do is just give Pommer more icetime & he’ll produce Kane/ROR/Sam type numbers

Just look at his pts per 60
(Stupid stat)

Maybe we can trade for Armia & he will jump to being a 25 goal scorer too?

Right, because the debate is whether to pay Armia Or Pominville 6-7 mil on a long term deal.

No one says Sam sucks.

He isn’t a 6-7 mil player yet, if ever

Let’s just trade Reinhart for Armia guys

He’ll cost less
And if we give him Sam’s role he will produce similarly

*except when he does, then we’d have to pay him too

We’ll never know how good Armia can be though,
because he’s stuck behind all those great players in...
Montreal

Yeah, but your line of thinking is nonsense

1) we don’t KNOW that plugging in 3rd tier guys for 2nd tier guys will result in the same production
-for every William Karlsson there’s a hundred Cody Eakins

2) IF (by some chance) they did produce on the same level, then we’d have to PAY THEM anyways

What are you talking about?

Who’s comparing Armia or Pominville to Reinhart? I’m certainly not

Bullsh!t

Maybe not directly...
but u love propping up average players who have decent “points/60” stats & saying they can “REPLACE” guys like Kane, ROR, and now presumably Reinhart

I’m guessing you’re now back to trading Sam bc he isn’t worth “x”

It's August
ROR is gone
Kane is gone
Lehner is gone
It was a good off season
Little else to talk about

Dude, you’re out to lunch. I’ve have repeatedly said I want Reinhart here long term recently. Said he’s the perfect complimentary player now that we have guys ahead of him.

I’ve disagreed that he’s close to William Nylander or worth 6-7 mil.

You’re an odd one

He produced more 5v5 with less ice time. Really don't have to look very hard to see that it's his best.

Well he might cost that much on a long term deal

And just bc he won’t have an end to end rush, doesn’t mean that Nylander is better than him
Or worth more

Still waiting for the metric that says Sam’s 1st year was his best

I’m done providing numbers for him to then be blatantly ignored.

It’s a tiring excercise.

I remember the week he was a huge analytics fan when it suited his O’Reilly argument. That was a good time

I remember how u conveniently IGNORED analytics bc it didn’t fit your BS narrative about O’Reilly

I just used stats that you hold so dearly to show how full of crap you were

Per @ShutdownLine, Sabres were the second worst neutral zone team last year (and lowest carry in %, I think). #RITSAC

O’Reilly struggled greatly with carry in’s.

I think this will be addition by subtraction offensively

Actually you didn’t, you had 0 clue what the stats used were for those rankings.

I think he’s over rated because he sucks at EV scoring. Like 3rd line level. That’s my reasoning. That and watching him do almost nothing offensively for 3 years at 5 on 5

In the final 44 games of the season, Reinhart was on fire scoring 22 goals and adding 19 assists. Although he said confidence had something to do with it he elaborated on his transformation as he continued talking to the gathered media."I said to myself, 'I'm just going to play my game and not, you know...'" That's where he trailed off looking for the appropriate words leaving one to wonder if he was just about ready to maybe talk about the way he was being used and/or game-planning.

"You know I think it's more important for me to play my game," he continued. "It's more beneficial to me and the team for me to play my game and however that fits into the team...you know I think I just..."

Once again he trailed of looking for the appropriate words. "I don't want to say I said, 'screw it' but umm...I think it was important for me to get back to what I did best in the past and I think I was able to find a way to

- sabreadvocate1[figure out] how it fits into a team game and hopefully can start with that next year."

I don't believe this one bit. Most likely, Reinhart's agent told him that he better put up some numbers because he has a new contact coming up.

something clicked for him...whether he decided to say screw it to the coaches or whatever...

was a helluva second-half run for him
