It's a seven year deal at 11 million a year for a guy that just turned 28 (actually in Sept), the first five years of that contract he'll be very productive and the Leafs just had a 105 point season so they have a good chance to win a Cup if they make some defensive improvements.
First two years he makes 15.9 million and then 12 million for one year and then 9.35 million for a year. - LeftCoaster

It makes their window wide open for a few years before it slams shut in a hurry IMO. |

As we've said before, he's been a big part of the problem sucking the Sedins balls for the past four years and NOW flip-flopping to a slow rebuild model.
Edit: if that's offensive to anyone please have Makita remove it and suspend me for eight years - LeftCoaster
I'm offended, makita, you know what to do. |

Depends if they draft well or not. Capitals made great picks while finishing near the top of the league. Kuznetsov, Carlson, Burakovsky and others were great picks. |

I've said for years that FA was a Richard and let's his ego get in the way of making good business decisions. I've said consistently that FA needs the Canucks to be winners in order to stay financially solvent. I've told the story where FA bought the Golden Eagle Golf Course in Pitt Meadows, wanted it to be more successful than Swan-E-Set which was just down the road, micromanaged every little decision and when it wasn't as successful as he wanted he fired the entire staff and blamed them for his own shortcomings and unrealistic expectations. Why are people so surprised now when it comes out that Linden, Captain Canuck himself, was fired by FA because he disagreed with him? FA runs the team like it's a Mafia business and he's the Don. |

if you can be a contender and hold onto your picks (and some workout), no need to retool on the fly. |

Offensive...I'm not even there yet, I'm still coming to grips with Linden being fired.
Once that reality sets in, then look out Lefty. |

Facts and actually being realistic about the Leafs are frowned upon on the board |

Jim Patterson, Chip Wilson, Paul Allen (although I think he's part of the Seattle ownership group now that I think more about it), Jeff Bezos... There's a whole list of billionaires that live nearby that could buy it. I just don't think FA ever will sell. |
