Sutter. 0.5m overpaid
Gudbranson 0.5m overpaid
Hutton 3.5m overpaid
Beagle 0.5m overpaid and unnecessary
Miller 1.5m overpaid
Nielson 0.5m overpaid
Markstrom 0.5m overpaid
I'm beginning to see a pattern..... - Pres.cup
I think the pattern is that they are overpaid in the few couple of years but by the end of the contract the cap has gone up more then enough that the contracts look normal if not decent value.

So linden was fired, really....never would have guessed , hey you guys know that Gretzky was traded just over 30 years ago....yup really happened, yup the great one got traded, who would of thought that happened, now Linden is fired....whoa stop the world. - Makita
Wait until year 4 of the Beagle contract Botch will still be bringing up the Linden firing |

I think it is more of a signing bonus for putting up with Vancouver fans and media. |

How many more days until Young Guns play in Kelowna? - VANTEL
It's only 3 weeks. Thank someone. At least then the people can start raving about how great the prospects are and they can start to see some light at the end of the tunnel |

Unlikely. They will probably complain that Dahlen got 45 seconds of ice time more than Lind |

I don't get how anyone can hate the owner. He has proved over and over that he is willing to spend the money to bring a championship to Vancouver. I guess you could dislike how gullible he is, or how he has bad jugement when hiring people. - 1970vintage

Vancouver is a nice city. It would be better if Van fans took over a Seattle Seahawks type fan base. Cheer and show up no matter what. |

Because he came into a good situation and it jaded his abilities to be realistic for a rebuild, thus he's a fool for not being able to see this. |

Near 50 years of failure tends to sour people even if they still care about the team. Winning is the only cure. |

Why's that? - manvanfan
Well all of his off-course jack assery aside with the sex scandal and whatnot that part of him isn't actually what bothers me the most.
I will admit he is better now but before it was always his on-course antics that drove me bat sh!t crazy. You NEVER saw Jack, Arnie or many of the other greats acting like an arrogant tool on the course plus the drama queen antics. The constant slamming of the club in the tee boxes...sand in the face routines in the bunkers all the time...tossing his clubs at his bag...plus the worst is the constant faking of injuries when he was in danger of missing the cut. When he was on top of his game he only played the tour minimum 14 weekends or so..never had time for the CDN Open (maybe once). There is also the steroid use as well. Which Gary Player commented on years ago.
He just made to so hard to cheer for him and like I said I didn't even care that he was a cheater...like many he just got caught doing it.
It's easier for fans to like him now as he seems to have mellowed a bit but you still se signs of his jack ass on course antics but it is what it is.
I just don't think he is worthy of breaking Jack's major championship record. He might win one more major in his 40's like Phil and Jack did but hopefully that's it.
We'd never hear the end of it if that clown breaks Jack's major record. Could honestly care less how many more times he wins on tour...as long as it's not the majors lol. |

I don't really understand why this whole 'Linden agrees to part ways with Canucks' thing then...why wasn't he just fired and be done with it? Why try to mask it all behind a 'mutual agreement'. Now it just makes us look as stupid as the Habs or the Sh!t show in OTT right now. Not what the team needs IMO. |

Research shows similarities between a fan’s identification with a sports team and how people identify with their nationality, ethnicity, even gender. Team identification “is the extent to which a fan feels a psychological connection to a team and the team’s performances are viewed as self-relevant,” says Daniel Wann, professor of psychology at Murray State University, who has spent much of his career dedicated to research about sports spectators.
“People are tying up a lot of who they are in their identity as fan of X-team,” says Edward Hirt, associate professor of psychological and brain sciences at Indiana University- Bloomington, who has also conducted research on the psychology of sports fans. “A huge part of who they are, where they derive a lot of their positive and negative affect, is from what their team is doing.

I have never been to a real life golf event. As i've been told from my father's friends who attend them all the time. Every golfer has their throwing/slamming the club. There's a lot that TV doesn't show.
I don't care if he ever wins again either. As I said Tiger Woods is good for golf. Crowds are bigger when he is in the field. He is the guy that fans want to see lose and fans want to see win.

I think ownership is worried about their image/brand.
firing the beloved Linden is like admitting they are slum lords or something. ownership doesn't want to come across as the bad guys. ownership is all fecked in the head.
unrealistic expectations. |

Pfft, Stecher is going to become a 1b defense man, keep up vintsy.
But Trevor being fired.....that's news.
Oh did you know Canucks are PO bound. Yup read it here, oh and Beagle is either going to be the 20th best forward in the NHL or he will ruin the Canucks franchise for the next decade.
Yup all true, |
