Maybe. At least Keith won another Cup, a CS to boot and waited til he was 34 to start trailing off unlike a certain Islander who is also conspicuously absent from the list. - HawkintheD
someone check in on savvyone, he may need some comforting right about now. |

For me simply amazing the kid popped 28 on 181 shots, skating all over the lineup, 2:00 of PP time, under 15:00 per game as a rookie. ..... Slotted properly and regularly with more PP time and overall TOI who knows what the kid can do. - Mr Ricochet
There are a few Hawks who are due for an increase in playing time, DeBrincat is probably at the top of the list. ADB averaged only 14:48 per game and 2:02 on the PP. I could see Debrincat getting another minute (or so) on the PP and another 1 - 2 minutes at 5-on-5. Because ADB doesn't play on the PK and isn't Patrick Kane I expect he'll top out around the 18 minute mark.
Murphy probably gets more time (16:22), Oesterle averaged 20+ minutes when he played and somebody needs to help take up those minutes. Manning will take some of that time, he averaged almost 18 minutes last season. Hopefully Manning isn't a 20+ minute guy for the Hawks next season. |

No Mike, I'm perfectly OK.
You see what happens when you don't have a NHL-caliber goalie (Keith's #'s this year defensively were not good either) and a rotating cast of partners and a scheme where forwards aren't doing their part.
Pretty similar situations IMO.
I don't know things are going to change much for either of them this year - except Trotz certainly knows how to do a lot with a little so I'd at least expect a better overall defensive scheme. |

Are you suggesting Keith's previous success was dependent on goaltending and better teammates? I thought it was always Keith who made Crawford look good, not the other way around. Hasn't Keith been covering for a declining Seabrook for years? |

Remember when Toews was talked about in the same breath as Crosby?
Good times. - savvyone-1

Solid Ginger Beard on that one, well deserved. It's OK Darth, Stan is going to sign Seguin next summer - EnzoD
I bet he will...$12 million with a double NMC. |

Hawks forwards score 257.61038 goals this season which happens to be 3.14159 goals per game...easy as pi. |

DK, you need to pick up a revisionist history book at store near you to keep up with these new and enlightening discussions. |

So Hayden doesn't even make the team? Forsling puts up 18 in a partial season? |

Interesting that Letestu signed a PTO with Florida. I was just hearing that the PTO season is upon us and the Hawks are looking at a few guys.
Sounds like Sbisa is still potentially in the mix on D, didn't hear any other specifics but sounded like they would be looking hard at the Centres still out there. |

I was looking at the UFA centers list recently and Shore, Letestu, and Matthias seem like viable options. Scratch Letestu off that list now. Not sure what the advanced stats say about Shore and Matthias.
There's always journeyman Dominic Moore. Always seems like a solid player despite playing for a new team what seems like every 1-2 years. |

Not to start panicking but getting closer and closer to traing camp and still no more additions. Weak at center and still need a top 4 d man plus one bottom six forward with scoring physical play and speed. Are they trying to compete for the playoffs or going through the motions and are still in limbo on what they want to do. I do believe they have a plan but what is it? |

Matthias hasn't had a decent season since 14/15 and I think he spends more time on the wing than centre. If the Hawks didn't already have Kunitz I would suggest Stajan too. Vermette was 60% on faceoffs last season and played just under 14 minutes. |
