2 games with Buffalo and Philly.
Looks like they figured out the wildcard race - jcragcrumple
Or Philly Corp also owns the channel.
This is a good thing though. That is 5 less possible times I have to listen to the unsufferable Pierre and The period break dim bulbs. Based on the Pens NOT being a part of it. |

I honestly don't know how Mike Milbury has a hockey related job. |

So if there is 1 more trade or signing coming, what's the position? RW? top 4 dman? |

For 8.3% of the time last year, our PP was as follows. Take a deep breath after this one.
Nolan, Wilson, Larsson, Nelson, Guhle.
So, on average, they were out there for 10 seconds per pp. Which is about 11 seconds too much. |

Agreed completely.
I do look forward to seeing how Buffalo fares this season. Their roster is deep and young.
Going to be fun to follow. |

Depth. We have 14 forwards and 8 NHL defensemen (7 on NHL contracts, 1 is Dahlin) and possibly 9 if Guhle is too good to be sent down.
We're pretty much out of tradable assets at the NHL level that will bring a quality return. I see Botts trading one or two low end guys to try to recoup a mid round pick or two. Bout it. |

We all hope so. On paper, it's one of the most exciting teams I think to see how they'll fare and some of the elite talent coming in. Along with the fact the team is balanced far better than it was last year.
Also, I'd rather my Pittsburgh cousin didn't poop on me for how (frank)ing awful we are every year. |

By that logic, it's actually 16. Only reason I left them out is because they're so fringe that they may actually pass through waivers. May.

Chris Brown says that Zay Jones' attitude is 'much more serious this year'.
He'll need that.
Also, decent write up on Josh Allen and how the Bills are continuing to expand his role through practice. |

Some quick marh actually paints a different picture.
109 total games means the average appearance of the 31 teams, if all appearances are equal, is 3.5.
So Buffalo's 7 appearances last season might have been an aberration and even the 5 this season is higher than the average.
EDIT: on second thought, it's probably not an aberration but due to the typically high audience viewership ratings the NHL sees routinely from the Buffalo market. |

does that include nelson?
nelson is actually pretty good on the pp as he's smart and gets many of his shots through...
that said, I get the other three and (maybe) guhle |

Wanna know why? Because they played their top 3 centers on PP1 a lot, so by default, the 4th line was coming out at the end of PP's.
Which is funyy, because I have stated how they should never run 3 centers on the same unit, and got criticized for that, by Fitz of all people |

The concern is the forwards who are (supposedly) the ones that need to put the puck in. |

it's not that far-fetched to use a group that includes fourth-line/bottom-sixers and depth d-men coming out of a powerplay...it allows the lines and pairings to fall into place after that out shift is over |

What a (frank)ing joke. Not that I think the Sabres deserve many more, but the Hawks are a dying sun. Classic NBC doesn't know poop, as usual.
Can't wait for Crosby vs Ovechkin promos. |

This is an astute observation that loses points for form as it should have been presented in the “I got laughed at for ...” meme.
You’re right about the PP personnel though, and it’s crushing that even by loading it with all of our talent we still SUCKED in that aspect of the game |

Right, and I posted that knowing that the final 10 seconds are for that purpose if you're not already set in the ozone, but still, you should never want to see them out during any percent of the pp time, even though it makes practical sense. |

they're out there for a shift, and I believe it's usually a pretty short one...
if the top pp unit is on for 1:10-20, and the second unit is out for :30-40, a :40 second shift by that 'out' unit allows a complete top-six line to hit the ice afterward |
