I already told you where. It was a WGR interview with Andy Stricklin after the trade. Where he talked about Berglund being a good skater for a big man.

And I never said Berglund was a burner. I said his skating is good for a big guy.

Which was in response to you saying we got slower.

And Sobotka is absolutely a very good skater, and others who have watched him agreed with me that day

- sbroads24

You did say they were both fast
I actually think u said “can fly...”

Regardless,
I try to find that Strickland interview in the audio vault when i get a chance
However, a “good skater for a big man” doesn’t mean much
It’s just saying he’s not slow
So maybe i went to far saying “we got slower”
but Berglund certainly doesn’t improve our team speed

And i literally have been searching for ANYTHING that says these guys are fast or good skaters & cant find one single person reviewing them as being so

The closest i can find I’d that Sobatka used to be a tenacious forechecker (pre-KHL)

Not saying these guys suck
Just saying they don’t help out our lack of speed up front

And NOTHING I’ve said has anything at all to do with O’Reilly
Nothing

Nope just Reinhart talk as of now.

Cool, thanks
I’d assume any move they might wanna wait is on hold till they know what they’ve gotta pay Sam

That was about Sobotka, and that wasn't me who said it. It was another poster in response to yours.

But if Sobotka is playing over Larsson, that does help the team speed, if only slightly.

He basically admits he's bottom 3 slowest on the team

I still like him

Also...
being a “good skater” and being “fast” aren’t necessarily the same thing

I’m not even trying to start sh!t here
Sorry if it seems like that

It seems like improvements in our bottom6 are tied mainly to these guys...
and idk if i watched StL at all last year really,
so i was just looking for info on these guys that can be corroborated

My bad on that then

I’m really just trying to find out info on these guys bc I’ve hardly watched them play recently

Yeah,
I don’t think he’s a bad player
I just always remembered Berglund (especially) being a slower guy
So I’ve been trying to find reports saying otherwise

Sobatka i never noticed one way or the other really

Me saying “we got slower” was an overreaction though

I should’ve said that these guys don’t really move the needle as far as us getting faster goes

I've watched Berglund for years. He isn't quick, but his North/South speed is adequate.

He isn't Afinogenov, but isn't Gaustad either.

Maybe Berglund's slowed down with injuries. Who knows, but we will find out one way or another

Yeah, could be
I just never remembered him being all that quick

Seems like a lot of how good we are this season is gonna depend on their 2way play

So I’m hoping for the best from them

I haven't been on much in the last week and I am sure these were discussed but:

1.) What would it take for the Bills to get Mack? Hughes, Lawson and a 1st?
2.) Would you make that trade?
3.) Who gets the letters for the Sabres? Jack gets the C, does Okposo and Risto get the A's?
4.) What if any other moves do you think Botts will make before camp?
5.) What do you think Reinhart gets? I am thinking 5 for 5

Here is a good debate. Which four Sabres would you have on Mt Rushmore? They have Miller and Hasek. I would have only one goalie and clearly it would be Dom. Gilbert, Hasek, Rayzor and either Gare or Rico. Also, definitely not Darcy for GM.

How the hell is Mogilny not even on the alternates, but Craig Ramsay is? Is this like saying Draisaitl is one of the best centers in the league?

Hell, I'd put Satan there ahead of Ramsay.

1) definitely starts with a 1st,
not sure what else we’d have to add

2) we need a legit pass rusher bad, so yeah, I’d trade for Mack in a heartbeat

3) sounds about right for the letters
Idk if Jack is ready to be Captain though?
I’m worried the locker room issues were in part his fault all well

4/5) i don’t think anything will happen till Sam gets signed...
i could still see the contract going either 1 year, or something in the 5 year range
Don’t think we’d pay enough to make it an 8year deal though
Potential moves...
-attempt a 4 for 1 type trade Homie was talking about
-or at least try & shed Beaulieu,
and 2 of: Girgs, Larson, Bailey, Baptiste

I’d be surprised if he pulls if anything too major
If he could somehow get Stone,
I’d do whatever it takes to make it work

I don't think anyone can be as slow as ROR was last year. I don't know if he was just being Vanek and not trying, or if his back is getting really bad and he can't skate. Probably a little of column A, little of column B.

ROR is probably the slowest player in the NHL.

Reinhart is deceptively slow.

Vanek looked slow, but he had the jets. He just smoked too much.

Saw the oilers lost Sekera for the year. Give us a call for a D man, what can they offer? Yamato? RNH? We can add too.

I’d send them Scandella
With Dahlin, McCabe, Guhle, Pilut & Samuelsson... he’s probably not in the future plans

Or McCabe +
But i like McCabe
We need a couple guys that are just tougher, defensive oriented guys

Vanek WAS slow, unless he wanted to skate, which 99% of the time, he didn't. But every once in a while he'd turn on the jets and you'd wonder why he didn't do it more often.

Sakera is a lefty.
Scandella or Blow-U.
Otherwise, Edmonton can go suck rocks.
And Sekera makes 6.5M? Jesus.
I don't know if anything has drastically changed since he's left here to justify that.
Admittedly, I watch 1 or 2 Edmonton games a year....against the Sabres.

Apparently, Molginy was a chain smoker when he arrived here.
Didn't know T.V. smoked though.
