I don’t know what either of you are talking about, but I don’t believe a word of the Subban thing. Or the hanging out with NHLers thing. - Rexypoo
I take some risks on here . I don't want certain comments circling back to me. I took a risk prior to the Tavares signing and just took another one with Tyler. Maybe you'll have more appreciation for my comments in a week or two...or less. I'll leave it at that. |

I can't argue with you on that. He is original, entertaining, generous, upbeat. His soccer act is embarrassing and that wouldn't sit well with teammates. It's likely that there were other issues in that Montreal room that were equal to or more significant and PK is a polarizing target. - 2.0
Oh, absolutely. I hate when we play him. He dives, whines to refs, and gets slashey at times. But I still want to be BFFs with him. |

Tyler Seguin - the prediction is a new long term contract in Dallas for 9+ish m/season. He likes the golf and tax advantages in the area. |

You can actually be a fan of Little while also despising his contract. That’s the camp I’m in. Just putting it out there. - Rexypoo
True, if he were making 3.5M I wouldn't complain. But alot of term and money for an older 3C |

Depends what happens with Trouba. If Trouba is traded, long term deal for Josh. If not, bridge deal. Things will happen in the next 2-3 weeks I predict. |

He hates Winnipeg. Doesn’t want to play here. Wants to play in the US. #LetHimRot |

You long term both ASAP. No matter what, you long term Morrissey. He’s cheap now, but in 2 years he’ll be peak, and he’ll have PP time with Myers long gone. |

Is that true??? I love the kid, but his stats are pretty inflated given his time with Buff. Wouln't expect big numbers from him on another team. |

I know my comment was a bit of a trap, but that was an instant turn. Sweet baby raptor Jesus, it’s already starting.
No. It’s not true. I’m making a joke about how Morrissey isn’t getting any of the hate spewed at him like Trouba did for not signing immediately and forever. |

LoL ... "in Chevy I trust" ... I'm going with that but it sure would be nice to see Morrissey sign long term - GIVEN - the cap can be managed
.
I share seasons with 3 other guys ... I have a spreadsheet with home games ranked 1 to 40 (remember - 1 home (and away) game played in Finland this year) ... don't wanna wish this crazy summer away but hardly can wait until the ticket draft and my butt is planted in section 113
.
Until then working on my handicap |

I hope Myers is signed to a long-term deal soon. With him only having one year on his contract makes me sweat....
And, Trouba aka Bogosian v2.0 needs to go soon. |

I definitely agree with this on the surface but maybe not the timing. I believe it would be in the Jets best interest to wait until maybe January before extending Myers and give this situation a bit more time. There might be teams that see unexpected holes that need filling on their D that might make us a good offer. I think they would be wise to give Niku and Poolman some playing time and see how they pan out this year.
At the end of the day though if Chevy decides to trade Trouba then Myers needs to stay.

If Myers will sign for 4 per or less, fine, keep him as a third pair d. If he wants more ship him out!!!! I’d rather way over pay Trouba than over pay Myers!!!!!! That will be a devestating mistake

No offence cause I appreciate any and all insights but Taveras signing in Toronto and seguin re signing in dallas are not risks, they were or are actually the most likely scenarios. |

There's a salary cap dude!!!
can't afford Trouba. Got to sign Wheeler and Connor and Laine next year.
Troub's the odd man out. |

Am I the only one who may not want to re sign wheeler? I see him getting too much money and term and won’t live up to the deal!!!
If we are forced, and I mean forced to trade Trouba, I’d consider mantha out of Detroit. He can slide in to Wheeler’s spot on the RW in a year and I guarantee, yes guarantee he will out perform wheeler for the next 5-6 years at half the cost of what wheeler will be paid. |

Wheeler has been outperforming his pay for the last 3 years. His play will decline but it looks like the speed is still there. Mantha is not going to out perform Wheeler until wheeler is about 36 or 37 y.o. Wheeler will fall somewhere around 7m/year for about 5 years and the haters are going to hate.

Not a hater, just disagree with you. I’d bet mantha will out perform wheeler for the five years following this season in a heart beat!!!! And while making way less. |

Based on talent, age, production levels moving forward and team positional depth this is how I rank the importance of locking up the following players.
1. Laine
2. Morrisey
3. Trouba
4. Roslovic
5. Connor and ehlers would be here to if he had not yet signed, LW is are deepest position at nhl, ahl and prospect levels
6. Wheeler
Like 2.0 says, I’m sure the haters are going to hate this, have at it.

I too would like to sign a 29 year old, heavily sheltered defenceman with an injury history longer than Toby Enstrom’s stick into his 30s. I’m even more hype about it when that defencemen probably expects a raise after living up to his current cap hit nones of times.
On the Bogo 2.0 comment:
I don’t know about you, but when I think of a defenceman drafted high in the late 2000’s on the promise of size and raw skill, whom went on to impressed early at the NHL level only to have his development stalled by constant injuries and overexposure, and have said development later move backwards for the same reasons just after signing a big contract, I definitely don’t think of Jacob Trouba. There is one familiar face on the Jets that comes to mind though... |

I’m also on the let Wheeler walk train. I love him to death, but he won’t be cheap.
If he’ll do 3x7, keep him. If not, make him an in-house playoff rental. He’s still a top end player, but his game is showing cracks, and he’ll be 33 before his next deal kicks in. |
