Agreed here, with Schenn, Oreilly, Bozak up the middle, I can’t remember a time in their recent history they have been that solid at center, which always seems to be their weak spot. Strong D core as well. If their goaltending holds up, could be a good season.

Jets have to start promoting their draft and develop players that are NHL ready and move some of their players that have been passed by these kids in size. speed, skill and affordability. Appleton, Roslovic, Niku, Poolman, Lemieux, Vesalinen and Petan are ready to make the jump to the big team. This would come at the expense of players like Copp, Kulikov, Myers, Tanev, Dano, Morrow, Charoit even, Trouba and Little. Can't see Maurice playing so many rookies and young players with very little NHL experience.

The Jets came in 2nd in the league last year and have a core that hasn't reached their prime yet.

They do want to make room for the draft/develop players but the problem they have is a good one. There will be room on the team for Roslovic and Petan or Dano this year. Niko and Poolman will play a lot this year. None of these will be at the expense of Copp, Kulikov, Myers, Tanev, Trouba or Little. Petan, Dano, Morrow and Chiarot will have to battle to earn time, but they will also have opportunity throughout the year.

vaseleinen, lemieux and appleton are good prospects but not good enough to be guaranteed time on the jets this year. Lemieux may never make the team (too many penalties and borderline abilities). On the whole the prospects mentioned would not make the jets a better team in 2018-19.

Well, I don't see Bowman making a trade for Panarin - the ask is probably far too rich for his liking - however I absolutely see Bowman bringing him back next season as a UFA...

I see Bowman going into the season with what he has presently.... I cant see Bowman giving up what it would take to get Panarin which would be one of Schmaltz or Debrincat and Anisimov and a First Round Pick at the very minimum.. However I am confident - actually certain - Bowman will sign Panarin as a UFA. Perhaps 7 years at 9.5 or 10 a season.

A top 6 of the following would be pretty damn lethal.. Every one of those guys has 30 goal potential.

IMO, Bowman is setting the Hawks up to be a beast for the next decade, but a beast that stays out of "cap hell"... Of course the Hawks future defense is shaping up to be one of the most dynamic in the league in a few years.. The only thing the Hawks lack in their future D is a top 4 left handed defenseman -- all their defensive studs are right handed...

The only real issue the Hawks have long-term is the fact the don't have a legitimate #1 goalie prospect...

I like what Philly has done and I think they are done. Flyers added some extra punch to their top 6. Their D should improve over last season but you never know with young players. Elliott had a good season with Philly, I expect him to have a better year as long as the Flyers dont collapse in the 3rd for a couple months and go on a 10 game losing streak again.

I dont expect Simmonds to re-sign. Unless Konecny drops from top line RW to 3rd line I dont see Simmonds getting signed to a 6+mill deal to play on Flyers 3rd line but we sure as hell are not going to trade him when we are a playoff team. Playoff teams trade for rental players, not trade them away.

Cant believe the fan base is sitting still & drinking the kool aid
